    Default My Avatar 2 Theories...

Here is my Avatar 2 theory divided into specific points:

1.) The sequel will take place at least 10 years after the first film
This is because it was stated that the trip from Earth took 5 years, 9 months and 22 days. Assuming there isn't any form of FTL communications available, that's roughly how long it will take for the Company (humans) to return, barring any ships already enroute to the Pandora during the first film.

2.) Assuming Avatars can procreate with Natives, there is a high probability Jake and Neytiri are parents.
I believe that there is a good chance that Jake and Neytiri will have twins for the sentiment of honoring both Tsu'tey and Tommy (Jake's deceased brother), or as I call him, Tom'ey.

3.) The Company creates enhanced Avatars to function as commandos, to infiltrate and sabotage/poison Na'vi sites associated with Eywa, to discredit Jake and others who stayed behind at the end of the first film. To add menace to this new group, a standalone Avatar based on Quaritch's DNA and psychological profile is created and programmed to target Jake. While indistinguishable from othe Na'vi at first, I imagine that imperfections in the genetic enhancement cause skin pigmentation to change to a much darker, almost black hue (for those familiar with Gargoyles, I call it the Thailog effect), perhaps the hair would go white as well, another reference to Thailog. Psychosis on the part of the Quaritch Avatar would also probably be a side effect.

4.) We (the audience), get to perceive the link that the Na'vi have with Eywa through Jake's mind, and I would imagine that he would perceive Eywa as being portrayed by Sigourney Weaver,

I find your theories on Avatar II very interesting. I think # 4 is the most likely. The idea of comando Avatars that are black with white hair is very scary! And would make a good story plot. I still hope the next film will not abandon the environmental and moral themes of the first film, and that we will continue to learn about the Na'vi and their society and connection to nature. The last thingI want for the next film is for it to become just an action flick, and nothing more.

We shall see. I am sure whatever James has in store for us is something we proabably could never think of!

i dont really like the idea of neytiri either being pregnant or having kids. she would have a lesser role because obviously she would be caring for the kids instead of having that bad *** fight in her

I disagree that she would have a 'lesser role' having become a mother, as males and females appear to be equal in almost all respects among the Na'vi. In fact, I think she would be even fiercer when the RDA returned to threaten the not just Pandora, but the future generations as well. I believe you are unconsciously putting human social norms on the Na'vi when clearly there are not based on the film.

I don't think she'll be during A2. As I said in my theory, since it's been confirmed that Selfridge is returning for the sequel, we are looking at 11 1/2 years between films, plenty of time for Jake and Neytiri to have a kid or two at the age of learning how to survive.

I hope it doesn't take place that far into the future. In fact, I was hoping the sequel would pick up where the first one left off. If J & N have a kid, it's going to smack of The Mummy Returns to me. I actually could handle her getting or being pregnant in the sequel. Save the kid for A3. As for humans creating stealth avatars...just how evil and stupid are humans going to be portrayed if it goes that route? I would much prefer humans learning a lesson and cleaning up their act. I also hope Grace doesn't return "alive" in her avatar. In flashbacks and/or able to manipulate the environment somehow because she is a part of it would be much more believable to me. I'm hoping the sequel stays a little more grounded and doesn't get too "fantastical." Just my opinion, though.

I did imagine Sec- ops using avatars as secret soldiers. That would really kick ***.

also, Weaver's voice would be great for Eywa
