here's my take on it:

I wouldn't mind it if he was brought back, just as long as there is a REALLY GOOD explaination for it, not something lame like 'haha we got his dna and cloned him along with 5 spares, just in case' type of explaination. That reason is just as bad as using time travel when the writers don't know how to be creative.
It'd be like Dr. Doom in Fantastic Four 2, or bringing back Green Goblin in Spider Man. We've already seen them fight, give us something new!

Only 5 spares? Heck if your going to clone the guy why not make a couple of thousand copies that way you could have a whole army of Quaritch's.. Would give a whole new meaning to the slogan "An Army Of One!" Realy hope the sequels don't go down this path J.C. set the bar very high with the first Avatar, I hope he plans to do the same in the sequels.
