    [Part 64]

    *** 22.10.2154 - 09:12 PM GMT - Otepani Hometree, Ey'va'Eveng, AC System ***

It took Norm another half an hour to overcome himself to climb on the beast's back. As the apparently still weakened human tries to keep himself balanced, Bie'rala's long arm enfolds his torso from behind and forms the bond with her mountain banshee, which has been shrieking impatiently. The beast flaps upwards and quickly passes the tree-tops. With scare on his face, Norm adjusts his exomask with one hand, after the strong air stream has moved it a bit.

He looks up towards Bie'rala's chin right above him: (na'vi) "Can you fly a bit slower? I feel like the air blows me off
    here!"

The na'vi female shortly looks down at the human right in front of her before her eyes turn back their focus on the horizon ahead: (na'vi) "Ikran can't fly too slow. And I told you, you can't fall!"

Unable to find anything he can hold on, Norm's hands clutch on Bie'rala's arm which remains enfolded around his torso. Minutes later, a tiny black spot can be seen on the sky, quickly decelerating and heading towards their own flight path. (na'vi) "Have you seen this?!"

Bie'rala's golden eyes focus on the tiny spot, which disappears behind some massive trees in front of them: (na'vi) "This is no ikran, nothing I
    have seen before."

After some minutes circling around in a bid to locate the Omaticaya Hometree, Bie'rala steers her Mountain Banshee straight towards another
massive tree where something glittering nearby can be seen. Moments later, the two vessels appear at the bottom of the small glade, next to several gathering na'vi and two smaller humanoids. (na'vi) "Where to land?" demands Bie'rala, nervously looking around.

(na'vi) "Err.. if possible, next to the .. wow, TWO ships! I know there isn't much room down there!"

"Two ships now... that's not Quaritch's stuff..." murmurs Norm as Bie'rala starts a steep descent, which let Norm scream. (na'vi) "Do you want my stomach flies out of my mouth?"

Bie'rala chuckles: (na'vi) "You are safe, Normspellman!"

With a few shrieks, the green-black colored mountain banshee reaches the ground right next to the Opetani Olo'eyctan's one, who stares towards Bie'rala's beast, shrieks at it and moves sidewards, apparently to avoid being hit by Bie'rala's banshee's wings.

Quickly, the two Olo'eyctans, Neytiri, Max and others are rushing in. "Norm!" echoes from Jake and Max, sharing relieved facial expressions.
"Geez, you really made it! We were so sure you... you were just gone!" shoots out Jake as he studies Norm, who gets brought down by Bie'rala.

As Norm's feet reach solid ground, he smiles up to Jake: "A Spellman has several lifes!" Then he continues in na'vi: (na'vi) "Olo'eyctan, this is
Bie'rala, she saved me off the ship's broken body."

The young na'vi huntress smiles embarrassed: (na'vi) "He is brave but scared of my Za'zam!"

Jake chuckles: (na'vi) "He could be easily it's breakfast."

(na'vi) "And luckily my stomach is still at it's place..!" encounters Norm as he looks up at Bie'rala. She replies with a mild smile before
lowering her head at her clan's chief: "Olo'eyctan, I hope you don't mind to get Normspellman here by now."

The mid-aged na'vi male in colorful tribal garment and heavy ornaments nods: (na'vi) "It was wise from you to get him back to his ... people, by Ey'wa's grace, it is decided we will help the Omaticaya to defend against the flying demons."

Bie'rala closes her eyes for a while: (na'vi) "Thank you, Olo'eyctan. I will be at your disposal."

Suddenly, a hand reaches for the young huntress as she turns around: (na'vi) "Eyuk'ek, brother! I see you!"

    - (na'vi) "I see you, my sister! We will protect the people here!"

Norm rises up his arm to gain attention among the tall beings around him: "Jake, on our way here we've seen a tiny black object zipping through the skies, towards this direction. I could imagine it's something related to Quaritch..! And what's about the while triangular vessel here?"

Jake nods: "We go the ship semi-operational with the help of Pearson's colleagues, na'vis, who have engineered the white vessel by the way. Amazing stuff. We could track a movement of a recon drone and that means they're basically on their way. And Norm, Pearson is in the ancient vessel, he fights for his life. He got critically injured in K'xam'fa."

Norm's eyes widen: "Lemme go there... oh my!" As he rushes towards the ship, he looses balance and tumbles to the grassy ground, apparently still weakened by his injuries. Instinctively, Bie'rala rushes towards Norm and helps him back on his feet. Max closes in and pats Norms shoulder, offering to support him: "Good to have you back, let's get over to Pearson... By the way, your new girl looks awesome!"

Norm briefly thanks Bie'rala in na'vi and glares at Max: "Ne need to envy me to have a na'vi female being nice to me."

Meanwhile, Neytiri's eyes turn increasingly concerned: (na'vi) "We Omaticaya owe you our deepest humble thanks in front of Ey'wa. The enemy is on his way."

(na'vi) "I will head back to my people and return with our finest warriors." replies the Opetani Olo'eyctan. "In less than one of the eight day
cycle, we will be ready in here."

Jake lowers his head to express his thanks: (na'vi) "Together we will make it and my people will be with you if anything happens in the coming
    time."

    *** 22.10.2154 - 10:24 PM GMT - Orbit of Ey'va'Eveng, AC System ***

"Sir, drop-ship Papa Dragon ready to un-dock." echoes Captain Maxwell's voice through the intercom. Quaritch leans back into the seat behind the co-pilot of Sullivan's drop-ship, his metal coffee mug close to his mouth: "Roger, Maxwell, we're going down now. Coordinates are in you guy's head up. Let's get our job done swift and smooth, wanna be back home for dinner!"

The pilot inserts commands into the panel in front of him: "Copied, igniting De-Orbit burn in 46 seconds."

"Captain Sullivan still needs a day to get his ship tactically ready, I hope we won't get in the situation where we actually need his resources down there." warns Commander Anderson, a black haired, rather slim male in his early mid age.

Quaritch eyes are narrowing: "Nah. I lost some of my best men today to these savages. They will PAY and we'll get our package. And believe me, we got our best remaining men on board plus usable air to ground equipment."

    - "Undoubtedly we're ahead in the game, at least in terms of hardware."

Quaritch nips on his coffee mug: "And above all, the hostiles have no time to regroup."

"De-Orbit burn initiated." sounds from the cockpit.

    - "Now let's have party." barks Anderson as the vessels front-thrusters fires up.

    [part 65]

    *** 22.10.2154 - 10:38 PM GMT - Omaticaya Hometree, Ey'va'Eveng, AC System ***

Jake's fingers move towards his throatcom as he readies the weapons collected from the three machines and few troopers. "Jake here, Trak'ah, what's up?"

"I am up here on my ikran, Teye'ung next to me, we see them coming! they come straight from the sky!"

The ex Marine scratches his forehead: "Are you mad, cruising on your bird in your health condition?"

    - "Come on, Jake. I have no other choice, I am a warrior. They are coming."

"Roger, Trak'ah. We're prepared and the trap is waiting for Quaritch!" encounters Jake as Neytiri translates the conversation to the nearby Otepani warriors.
Siek'eah and her male na'vi colleague are heading back towards the triangular white craft: "I understand we should get ready with the 'Loreyu'."

"You know how to use the throatcom?" demands Jake with a smirk in his face. The na'vi female sighs and continues her way towards the tiny white vessel. Meanwhile, Neytiri, Mo'at and a number of apparently chosen hunters are rushing the remaining Omaticaya into the blueish vessel.

Jake activates his throat-com: (na'vi) "Otepani Olo'eyctan, are your warriors ready near the dire horses?"

It takes some moments until Jake receives an answer: (na'vi) "The necklace you gave me needs to be gotten used to. The Otepani are ready to strike from our position in the foilage. Ey'wa's blessing is with our spirit."

    - (na'vi) "Thank you, we will make it!"

Jake's fingers reach up to his throatcom again: "Trak'ah..?"

"Yes, Olo'eyctan..." crackles out of Jake's throatcom. "We will head to the ships and attack them as we did the second battle."

Jake's eyes widen: "Negative, Trak'ah! Their ships are way better than what we fought against near Hell's Gate. You need to stay out of their
vision, fly along the tree-top level back to us, I need you both on the ground. Do you read me?"

    - "Yes, Olo'eyctan. We fly to you."

    "Awaiting you here. Over'n out."

As Jake swings on a beam weapon on his shoulder, which he has taken from a downed machine, black two large dark objects, followed by four smaller crafts, appear on the sky above the tree canopies. "Norm, how is Pearson doing?"

    - "He's doing better. We could stabilize him and all he needs now is sleep. What's out there, are they coming?" crackles out of Jake's throatcom.

"Yes, we got barely a minute before it's getting bumpy out here. Make sure not too many people stream into the quarter where Pearson is."

    - "He's in good hands. I'm coming out now, even it's gonna be a small contribution..!"

"Norm, we don't need another dead hero..." rejects Jake. However, the connection has been already shut off.

Neytiri looks up with widened eyes and rushes alongside the last remaining na'vi outside the blueish vessel's entry hatch: (na'vi) "Run! Faster!"
Screaming in panic, the last few na'vi rush into the hatch while the adjacent white deltaflier leaves the ground with a quiet buzz right before it disappears as it apparently goes into cloak mode.

The remaining hunters, some armed with weapons collected from the overpowered machines and troopers, hide into the adjacent foliage. Neytiri is taking position behind a fallen tree stumb next to Jake. "Trak'ah..!" hisses Jake into his throatcom but no reply. "Damn..! Trak'ah!"

Nearby, Norm stumbles around with a handgun and hides behind the parked vessel, apparently unseen by Jake. Just moments later, gas grenades zips into the canopy of the massive Hometree, causing some idle mountain banshees to rush away with hefty shrieks. Seconds later, the first gas grenades lands on the floor, just a couple of meters away from Jake and the others. (na'vi) "Retreat more!" hisses Jake with waving hand-signs, his eyes widened in panic.

    *** 500 meters above ***

Quarich grins as he sit's relaxed in his seat and nods towards the screen in front of the co-pilot, showing the narrow glade next to the Omaticaya Hometree, filled with raising white smoke.

The pilot switches to another viewing mode and turns his head backwards towards Quaritch: "Sir, all TX grenades deployed at hostile target."

"Time to get the roaches deep-fried." chuckles the ex General.

    - "Aye, launching firehead." sounds from the cockpit.

Moments later, the entire Hometree lights up in a massive fireball. Within fractions of a second, the firely blast moves downwards and reaches the glade and lights up the hovering gas cloud and partly engulfes the vessel. The resulting heat scorches the leafs of the trees around the glade. As quick as the fire came it disappears, leaving a smoky scorched ground. Screams of terror echoes from the thick adjacent foliage. Above in one of the two dropships, Quaritch studies one of the screens, displaying an empty, mostly charred glade. Smoke originating from the Omaticaya Hometree starts to cover the view. The ex General's eyes turn narrow: "Alright guys, time to secure the site and seize the cargo."

    - "Troopers are ready to descent." echoes Maxwell's voice through the intercom.

"Get them down. Let's finish the job." barks Quaritch as he holds up a handheld device. "And I need one of the savages ALIVE. Just ONE."

Moments later, three of the four crafts accompanying the two larger drop-ships bank sidewards and descent towards the thick vegetation around the narrow glade, apparently searching for movements on the ground. Meanwhile, one of the dropships take position directly above the glade and extends two robes, reaching all the way down to the ground. As the first heavily armed troopers reach the steamy ground, Jake places his fingers at his throatcom: (na'vi) "GO!"

From all sides of the glade, arrows, bullets and energy beams spray down towards the few troopers, who are just about to take position next to the ancient vessel. One men by another, some pierced by several arrows at once, are tumbeling to the ground. Those troopers still on the robe are grabbing their rifles and fire energy bursts downwards into the thick foliage. Burnt leafs and branches are raining down near Jake and Neytiri, as they concentrate their fire on the men coming down the robe. From nearby positions, some na'vi are firing their automated weapons directly at the drop-ship hovering above the glade but with no visible effect. The three shuttles head towards the foliage adjacent to the glade and randomly opens fire into it, while the fourth craft fires tear gas grenades into the glade, before touching down. It's hatch opens and a number of men in armored bodysuits enter the glade and head towards the ancient vessel, hardly visible in the thick smoke. As the heavy gun battle continues around them, two of the men are staring at the vessel up and down, apparently in search for it's entry hattch. As energy beams flash nearby through the thick smoke, one of the troopers switches on his ear-com: "Sir, we're under attack! It was a trap, no bodies of hostiles on the ground but they're firing at us from the forest and the ship's entrance, it's just gone!"

"Are you too dumb to secure the vessel? It can't be just GONE!" rings Quaritch's voice through one of the troopers ear-com.

    - "Sir..!"

"Get the entrance located, we'll keep the hostiles off sit!" barks Quaritch trough the ear-com, while more troopers can be seen gliding down the ropes, obviously not seen by Jake and the other Omaticaya warriors behind the smoke layer.

Meanwhile, Jake and his men feel the effect of the tear gas, which hovers into the adjacent foliage. As the na'vi start to gasp for air, Jake's
finger glide over his throatcom: (na'vi) "We need you now from the other side and beware the smoke!"

Suddenly a blast rocks the foilage near Jake. Pieces of wood and leafs rains down as the fireball ceases. A surrounding tree's tattered trunk moans underneath it's weight and gives way, let it's canopy land near the Hometree's outer column entrance. Another similar blast sends a shockwave through the thick foliage, pieces of wood rain down. Neytiri screams up as she gets pierced by a smaller wooden fragment. Jake rushes towards her but the na'vi huntress pulls the fragment off her upper arm, tears of pain filling her eyes. She moans and grabs her bow just seconds before another blast rocks the area. "Quaritch is bombarding us!" barks Jake as he waves his hand as a sign for the surrounding hunters: "Let's move forward! Hold on your breath if you pass the smoke!"

With guttural war cries, the crowd rushes forward towards the glade and fires their bows and weapons. Apparently precisely timed by Jake, the Otepani hunters close in on direhorses from the opposite direction. The ground shakes as the beasts gallop into the narrow glade, with their riders aiming their arrows at the dozens of troopers have been filling the glade in the meantime. What follows is a brutal slaughter caused by short distance firing of arrows, energy beams and bullets. Further up, the white triangular deltaflier uncloaks right behind one of the shuttles still firing into the adjacent forest and fires a faint read beam at it. Before another nearby shuttle craft could return fire, the deltaflier fires another burst of beams and cloaks again. The stricken craft reels sidewards and sinks into the jungle canopy. Moments later a plume of black smoke appears and rises into the afternoon sky.

Meanwhile, Jake's followers together with the Otepani are exchanging firefights with the last remaining troopers on the ground. Several hunters have fled the area due to the biting smoke or liying on the ground and gasping for air. Norm crouches underneath the hovering vessel and aims his gun at one of the troopers in black armored suits close to Bie'rala and fires it several times until the man sinks to the ground. Bie'rala turns around and stares at Norm with her moth agape. Before she could act, a bullet zips by just millimeters off her cheek and refocuses her attention to the comparable tiny human recharging his gun. As he aims it at Bie'rala's head, the huntress draws her bow. Before he could pull the trigger, the na'vi female releases the bow with a shriek of rage. Moments later, the site turns silent. Several na'vi can be seen standing above several dozens of bodies, some of them are blue. Smoke still hovers above the narrow glade.

Instinctively, Jake looks up and notices, as the other drop-ship closes in. Nearby, the deltaflier and a shuttle exchange energy bursts, both are apparently hit. "We need to end this, once and forever!" snorts Jake and heads towards the vacant shuttle. He looks at the nearby Opetani Olo'eyctan and briefly lowers his head: (na'vi) "We are deep in your debt, we try to fly the skyship up, hope you can secure the people meantime."

The middle aged na'vi male wearing his ornaments and some war paint nods: (na'vi) "We do this to all of Ey'wa's offspring. We will keep this area safe while you are up there."

With a hand sign to the others, Jake rushes into the shuttle craft, followed by Neytiri, Trak'ah, Eyuk'ek and Bie'rala. Just before they manually
close it's hatch, Norm rushes towards it and stumbles into the craft to the surprise of Jake. "Norm, what the heck is going on? That could be a
    suicide mission and your condition..."

    - "Keep it for yourself, Jake." interrupts Norm with a brief glance at Bie'rala nearby, whose golden eyes meet his eyebeam. "How you want to FLY this thing without me?"

The ex Marine shakes his head with a smirk on his face: "Norm, if I wouldn't know you better, I'd wonder if you wanna impress someone."

Norm rolls his eyes and squeezes himself towards the tight cockpit section of the craft: "I don't know what you're thinking, Jake. I'd suppose we get this thing airborne. Luckily we got some useful experience to maneuver strange crafts in the recent past. Let's figure out how to... Thanks for your help."

Jake grins and replies with a nod: "You'll be the captain on this flight."

"Welcome abord, flight management system online." echoes an artificial voice. While Norm and Jake struggle to understand the craft's control

subsystems, Trak'ah follows suit and squeezes his head towards the front. Neytiri stows her bow and checks the remaining arrows, while Eyuk'ek suddenly stares at the surrounding walls of the tiny craft: (na'vi) "I.. I rushed here to seek shelter, I didn't even think when I followed them but I think this isn't good to be here!"

(na'vi) "Calm, brother." conciliates Bie'rala with a warm voice. (na'vi) "I feel it is Ey'wa's wish. We are supposed to be here, even I don't know
    what will happen from now."

Eyuk'ek looks anxiously at the metal floor where he sits on: (na'vi) "It's cold and unreal. I understand why Olo'eyctan view all these artificial
    things as demonic."

(na'vi) "The one who fly these skyships are more demonic than the empty bodies." encounters Neytiri with a rather stern tone. Suddenly the ship moves abruptly. Eyuk'ek looks scared as his hands are seeking hold on the cabin walls. "Oups..!" echoes Norm's voice from the front: "Sidestick to be used the reverse way..."

Seconds later the tiny craft soars upwards. "Look at the two shuttles chasing the deltaflier!" barks Jake as he points at one of the three main
    cockpit screens.

"Lieutenant Chelsey, the hell are you flying this kind of crap?" sounds Quaritch's voice through the ship's intercom. Neytiri's eyes widen before
she turns towards Jake: "Where is he?!"

    - "We're heading toward him right away." replies Jake "But first we get rid of the two bees chasing our friends."

"Remember, we're sitting in such a bee as well." reminds Norm as the vessel goes on intercept course.

    - "Get closer to it's rear, I wanna make sure this shot's gonna be a full hit coz we won't have a second chance since Quaritch still assumes his
    own men are flying this."

"I try my best..." snorts Norm as he manages to get the ship closer and closer behind one of the vessels. "Aim and fire!" commands Jake.
A burst of beams hit the vessel right in front and let it glide uncontrolled towards the jungle canopy below. "Yeah!" cheers Norm. "Next one."

demands Jake. However, a sudden bump shakes the vessel. "We're being hit by the other one!"

    -"Evasive maneuver..!"

The vessel makes a sharp bank to the right and dives downwards as it now get chased by the other remaining shuttle. The deltaflier takes the
initiative and makes a sharp loop to approach the chasing vessel from above. A faint red beam flashes up several times and finally send the shuttle against the trunk of a massive tree. A bright fireball engulfes parts of the tree before it turns into a grey plume of smoke.

Jake activates his throatcom "Thanks for saving our ***! We're going up there now."

"The thank is on our side." echoes Siek'eah's voice through Jake's throatcom. "We couldn't stay out here much longer as our cloaking system is malfunctioning after a hit."

    - "We're dealing now with the drop-ships, will be back soon. Stay out of their fire range." encounters Jake.

"We will head to your people, I think they are in need now."

    - "Definitely. And many thanks! Over'n out!"

Norm looks at Jake as he manages to evade the incoming energy beams and ballistic missiles, fired by the two drop-ships hovering quite far from the shuttle above the horizon, surrounded by two plumes of smoke, rising high into the sky. "Jake, how you wanna get to that guy?"

Jake scratches his forehead: "Well... we gotta go through their front door then. Full thrusters. Once we close enough to one of the drop-ships, bank sharply and right into it's side cargo doors. We both have been into one of his ships, so they should be the same."

"How can we be certain that this evil skyperson is in THE one?" demands Neytiri.

Jake leans turns towards Neytiri: "Either he'll be in it and we'll kill him in there... and if not, we'll take over that drop-ship and shoot him
    down."

"On our way..." groans Norm as he's struggeling to keep the ship out of hostile fire, which intensifies the closer the craft gets to the drop-
    ships.

Suddenly, a violent boom hits the tiny craft, smoke rises out of the cockpit panels. Bie'rala and Neytiri release a scream of fear as Norm
struggles to keep control of the badly hit vessel. A last bank and the side-cargo door of a drop-ship fills up one of the cockpit screens.
"Jake, that's really craaazyyy...!" screams Norm fragments of a second before the craft slams through the cargo door. Pieces of the cabin interior, cables and sparks rain through the craft as it suddenly comes to a stop. Silence. A small fire burns behind a cockpit panel as all interior lights of the shuttle have been going off. Bie'rala rises herself up, briefly checks Eyuk'ek, who moans in pain and turns toward Norm, whose head got slammed into the panel in front of him. (na'vi) "Normspellman..! Are you..?"

    [Part 66]

Norm nods perplexed but before Bie'rala could head towards Norm, two uniformed men and a female - apparently security personel at this deck - rush through the hatch and draw their small handguns and aim them at Norm and Trak'ah. Quickly, Trak'ah manages to fire the energy rifle he got from Jake earlier today, while two shots slam through the corridor. Trak'ah presses his hand against his belly while one of the security personel tumbles to the ground. Bie'rala makes a jump and connects her ellbows to the two surprised humans back from behind. "Trak'ah..!" shouts Norm as the tall na'vi

male next to him moans under pain.
"I am fine, Norm... I can seek healing later. We are in danger here..!" presses Trak'ah out of his mouth, while blood is streaming through his
fingers. In that moment, alarm sirens kick in as a white puffy cloud blasts through the shattered hatch. Bie'rala, Norm and Trak'ah heads through it and sneak a peek into the room behind.
Three persons in uniforms are nervously rushing from one control panel to the other one. In the middle of the room a large cubic container can be seen, which emits light impulses through some window-like openings. Several 2D and 3D holographic displays are around, some mounted on the walls.
One of the men inside the machine room notices Norm and the two na'vi at the hatch and turns towards them. "You idiots have disabled the warp plasma cooling sys..." before he could continue his sentence, an energy burst from Norm's rifle sends the man to the ground.

    Norm's eyes widen: "Trak'ah, no...!"

Before the remaining two humans could fully turn around, the na'vi male has been aiming his rifle at them and end their lifes.

"Holy sh..., Trak'ah, they were machine room personnel, engineers!" shouts Norm bewildered as warning lights kick in all around the machine room.

Meanwhile, Neytiri, Jake and Eyuk'ek could fight their way through the corridors towards the bridge, whose hatch has been sealed.

"Warning. Warpcore breach in 280 seconds. Emergency evacuation necessary..!" echoes an artificial female voice through the corridors.

    - (na'vi) "What is this for a sound?" demands Eyuk'ek as he leans himself against the titan reinforced hatch.

(na'vi) "No good news, we need to leave this skyship..." declares Jake. (na'vi) "And we should better find a way, HOW..."

Neytiri snarls in frustration with her ears flattened as her eyes focus on the other, smaller door near the hatch towards the bridge: (na'vi) "He
    is here!"

Jake grabs her a arm: "We need to go now, he'll burn up here in hell! Although I wish to see his end myself but we gotta go!"

The na'vi huntress releases her arm off Jake's grip, roars up and slams her feet against the door, which immediately gets a dent. "I do this
    first!"

With combined force, the three na'vi manage to break through the door. As the remaining door's sliding component falls forward into the room
behind, a shot thunders directly from Quaritch's long barreled pistol, barely a meter away. The bullet hits Neytiri's shoulder from below and
scratches the lower part of her feline ear. With an inhuman glare, the na'vi huntress slams her hand into Quaritch's face, let him fire another
shot at the ceiling as he stumbles backwards at his ready-room's desk. A vase and a framed picture falls down of it.
Quaritch wipes the blood off his nose with a grin and looks at Neytiri: "You bitch gonna meet your creator now..."

In that moment, two more troopers hurtle through the corridor towards Quaritch's ready-room but get intercepted by Jake and Eyuk'ek.
Neytiri slaps away Quaritch's pistol, ignoring the blood streaming down her shoulder and grabs the ex General's throat and lift him upwards, till
his head knocks at the room's ceiling panels. Gasping for air and with a blood stained face, Quaritch manages to pull a dagger off his left holster and pushes the blade into Neytiri's chest near her armpit, although not with much force. The na'vi female reacts and throws the ex General into the display cabinet behind his desk. Glass and medals of honor are raining down on Quaritch's head as he sinks down into the rubble.
The ex General spits out some blood and struggles to look at the na'vi female, who stands above him, her left hand near her dagger. A faint grin appears on Quaritch's blood stained face: "Will join you in hell..." Then the ex General passes out.

Quietness in the room as Neytiri's golden eyes meticuously study Quaritch's bloodstained head. Then she turns around and leaves the room.

"Warning: Warpcore breach in 160 seconds. Emergency evacuation necessary..!"

Neytiri's eyes widen as she notices Jake with scattered wounds stumbeling towards Quaritch's ready room, supported by Eyuk'ek. The bodies of about a dozen troopers and security personnel lie across the corridor. "Ma Jake..!" Neytiri rushes towards Jake. "We need to get you out..! I feel danger still comes!"

Jake nods: "The ship is about to blow up, let's get to the others and then to the drop ship! I still can walk..."

Meanwhile in the machine room. Norm keeps his hands on a lever near a huge panel 'manual plasma cooling vent'.

(na'vi) "That is what the skyperson here has been doing. It seems it can buy us some more seconds before everything goes up...!"

Bie'rala looks concerned, her head tilted: (na'vi) "We need to go now, Normspellmann..!"

Norm shakes his head: (na'vi) "If I leave this lever and the manual injection button at the same time, we will all die within a minute. You need to go now, I try to find another way... out..."

Bie'rala's eyes widen: (na'vi) "Norm..., no! You can't be left here! I can't leave you here!"

(na'vi) "It's your only way to survive..! Join the others, get back to the skyship which brought you up here! Go, go!"

Tears are swelling in Bie'rala's golden eyes. (na'vi) "Why not together..?!"

Trak'ah apparently studies the situation and approaches Norm: (na'vi) "Thank you, my fellow warrior to sacrifice yourself in Ey'wa's name, your
soul will be one with Ey'wa... You will be unforgotten for the people." he murmurs in a low tone.

A tear rolls down Norm's cheek: (na'vi) "Get Bie'rala and the others back to Ey'wa'Eveng safely. And I'm not yet dead, I still got an idea.. Now
    go, my friend."

Trak'ah nods and places his large hand on Norms upper arm: (na'vi) "When you are at Ey'wa'Eveng, you deserve a fine mate for yourself." Then get gets up and gently pushes tearstained Bie'rala towards the hatch: (na'vi) "We need to go..."

Moments later Trak'ah and Bie'rala meet the others at the drop-ship's entrance hatch.

"Warning: Warocore breach in 40 seconds. Emergency evacuation necessary..."

    (na'vi) "Closing door..!"

Jake pulls the lever and the vessel's main hatch slides down. "By the way... where is NORM?"

"He prevents the entire ship from immediate destruction." replies Trak'ah "He decided it."

The ex marine looks bewildered at the senior hunter: "I can't let Norm stay up here to face his death!"

    - "We have no more time..!" encounters Trak'ah, his eyes widely opened in concern.

Jakr rushes into the adjacent flight deck and looks puzzled at the panels and head up screens. "How can I fly this goddamn thing!?" screams Jake in desparation.

Just in this moment a brief bump goes through the vessel. Seconds later the opposite entrance hatch opens and gives the view to Siek'eah and Mrak'tuh. (na'vi) "I think you prefer to fly with us..!" says Siek'eah with a faint smile on her face.

Without hesitation but with bewildered faces, the five occupants of the drop-ship rush through the hatch into the ancient vessel.

(na'vi) "How did you..?" Jake's gaping mouth prevents him to complete the question.

    - (na'vi) "We've been working hard to get all sub systems ready." explains Mrak'tuh with a trace of confidence on his face.

Jake manages his way through the crowded corridor towards the bridge, where Max and Teye'ung are resting on the navigator seats. "Get us distance to the ships up here! It's all gonna blow up..!" demands Jake.

"Welcome back, Jake and yes, I was thinking just about doing that since the second vessel nearby has started to fire at us!" replies Max and
initiates a quick bank to the left to gain distance to the deteiorating battle cruiser.

Meanwhile in the cruiser's machine room. Norm has managed to get the lever, which injects the cooling supported by a iron tube which fell down from the ceiling during the firefight. This could give him a free hand to access the panel next to it, while his other hand still sticks at the
emergency button to prevent the reactor core to get sealed while being cooled.

    "Warpcore breach in ten...nine...eight...seven...six...five...four...t hree...two...one... x"

A grin appears on Norm's face as his fingers move over the panel. The clicking of an antique firegun can be heard from behind. Norm turns around and looks into a middle aged male's pair of eyes. Commander Anderson draws his Smith & Wesson and aims it at Norm, who stares at the black haired man with his mouth agape.

"Thank you Mister ... to get our ship stabilized." chuckles Anderson, his gun still pointed at Norm's head. "And now you'll withness it's firepower
    at your beloved ancient ship..!"

Norm's eyes are moving quickly, his hand pushes away the lever, which immediately snaps downwards: "Never!" Then Norm closes his eyes.

"Hey, the countdown is over due and still no warp breach..!" cheers Jake as they're staring into the distant silhouette of the two cruisers amid the blackness of space right right above the curved moon's surface.

"Norm is a genius, he definitely found a way to buy some time in order to get off the ship!" encounters Max.

Trak'ah looks at Bie'rala: (na'vi) "The count down of destruction is over but the ships are still there, it looks good for Norm..!"

The young na'vi female squeezes out a faint smile: (na'vi) "Can we take him back?"

Jake activates his throatcom: "Norm, you hero, do you read me?! We're heading back now!"

Suddenly a bright light pops up and fills a quarter of the bridge's front screen. Shocked pairs of eyes stare at the screen just before another bright light pops up. Slowly the two shockwaves can be seen expanding spherically. Countless tiny fragments of what were once two massive cruisers shimmer in the sunlight.

Silence prevails on the bridge as everyone still stares bewilderedly at the screen. Tears are streaming down Bie'rala's face while her brother wraps his arm around her from behind.

Nooooooo!!!! Atleast Norm went out with a bang.
The most exciting part about life is that at anytime, anyplace, you can die. You will never see it coming. It may come when you least expect it, or it may come when you want it, but you will never know when. Instead of being depressed about it, let it drive you. Live for that single moment. Because when it finally comes, you will regret nothing."-Me

Also, I want to thank Prowler for finding this pic for me. I know it aint customized or whatever, but it's Neyney. She doesn't need anything added to her.

    [Part 67]

    *** 23.10.2154 - 6:26AM GMT - 21Km from Offenbach EsoCF, Earth, SOL System ***

Only the faint flicker of an almost burned down thick candle light is the only source of light in this dark ancient basement dwelling.
The early morning light starts to send it's first faint rays through the gap of the wooden board covering the stairway upwards.
Banana leafs with some duck bones and avocado stones are lying not far from Najat, who peacefully rests on a thin sheet covering dry grass right next to Jonas on the plank used as a sickbed.
Suddenly a grumble interrupts the early morning's peace. Immediately, Najat's feline ears move and her big golden eyes open. She rises her head and apparently listens the unknown sound as it seems to get closer. The na'vi's eyes briefly study her mate next to her before scanning the rest of the dwelling for the other humans, however, no one of them is left. Out of a sudden, a massive blast rocks the surface above, apparently not far away from the dwelling.
As Najat jumps up in panic, Jonas turns around, his eyes open: "What is..." In that moment, another blast let dust rain down from the rotten
ceiling. Debris from the collapsing shack above falls through the opening. Panicked, Najat jumps over Jonas, who stares bewildered into the
    chaotic scene. "Jonas?!"

The young human male shakes his head: "It's ok.. what was that?!"

"Where are the others?" demands Najat as she heads towards the rotten stairway, now almost completely covered by debris.

Jonas coughs out some inhaled dust and manages to sit up: "They left to their own place when I was about to fall asleep, you were already knocked out!"

    - "It was a terrible day, I was exhausted." mutters Najat as she start to clear the debris on her way upwards.

"Be careful! There could be combat activity up there, you're unprotected!"

(na'vi) "I know how to keep aware of ranting skypeople..!" mutters Najat frustrated as she moves some wooden beams sidewards in order to get her head up.

"Is there someone complaining?" demands Jonas, raising his left eyebrow.

As the na'vi female ist just about to step her first feet on the ground upstairs, she releases a shriek and jumps downwards again, her eyes widened in terror. "Jonas, we must go!"

    - "Who's coming?"

"We must GO!" shouts Najat in fear: "There are ... I have seen it before in the big city yesterday, shining demons with red eyes! They are coming!"

Sounds of multiple detonations thunder through the dark, rotten dwelling. Najat and Jonas wince as dust rains down. "Time to get up..!" snorts Jonas as he gets himself on his feet, although still a bit shaky.

Najat rushes towards her mate and eyes his condition with suspicion. "You can't run, I take you on my back."

Jonas vigorously shakes his head but groans in pain as he manages to make some steps: "I can walk, I don't need to be carried all the time..!"

Najat hisses angrily and places her hands around her mate's shoulder: "Jonas, you have healing wounds inside your body..!"

Jonas fights himself towards the stairway as another detonation shakes the dwelling: "I am a MAN and we have a saying, Indians don't know pain..! So let me get up the damn stair now!"

The tall na'vi female pulls up her thin black jacket's zipper and heads towards Jonas, her eyes narrowed in anger: "If I don't take you, you die
here and I dont let it happen!"
Before Jonas could react, Najat places her left arm behind Jonas legs and gently pushes him towards it with her
right arm. Still in protest, Jonas bottom sinks to his mate's right arm who instantly moves him upwards in a sitting position: "I don't know why
you human male insist you can do everything. Is every of human male like you?!"

Jonas takes a deep breath and sneak a peek backwards over Najat's shoulder, his eyes widening: "We discuss that later, once you insist to have me on your arm, you'd better RUN now!"

With Jonas basically sitting on her left arm, Najat hurtles over fallen tree stumps and debris, followed by armed machines in humanoid form,

accompanied by huge metallic caterpillar units, obviously heavily armed and surrounded by tiny flying object, apparently drones. Energy beams zip through the air, some of them just next to the fleeing na'vi female.

Najat moans in exhaust and leans at the back of a tree stub and drops Jonas. "I am too heavy for you, Najat, let's get away from here..!"

"Too heavy for my arm when I run but not for my back!" hisses Najat before she turns her head backwards towards the incoming machines. "Don't look back..!" shouts Jonas seconds before a bright light flashes through the tree stub meters above their heads. Pieces of burned wood rain down as another blast next by kicks up soil and debris. Jonas grabs a fallen branch and breaks off parts of it to get it ready to serve him as a crook. With her ears flattened and eyes widened in rage, Najat knees down in front of Jonas: "You destroy your body! I take you on my back, if you want or not!"

Jonas winces: "Najat, I've never seen you so determined..! Well, OK... you won."

The na'vi female briefly nods and turns her back towards Jonas so that he could get on it. After Jonas gets his arms entangled around his mate's neck, Najat gets up and hurtles straight forward through the remnants of what was a lush forest 24 hours earlier.
