[PART ONE]
Loads of RDA personnel and SecOps are boarding their vessel and can be seen lifting off towards the cloudy sky. The sun is setting and the RDA base remains in silence, almost all lights turned off. The three scientists left on Pandora are carrying equipment out of the main RDA complex into one of the last few remaining Samsons down on Pandora. Below the Utral Aymokriä (tree of souls) the Omaticaya tribe is sitting and singing, in the center Jake, Neyriti and Mo'at are standing upright, as Jake is sworn in as the new leader of the tribe.
**01.09.2154 - 07:03 AM local time - Pandora**
the sun is shining through the jungle trees, somewhere nearby the Utral Aymokriä. All Na'vis can be seen sleeping on the ground, the first are waking up. They have lost everything, their home, their tools but they are now in freedom. Neyriti can be seen next to a small spring, washing her war-painting off her face. Jake is next to her and kisses softly her forehead. Neytiri's eyes are opening and she smiles warmly, put her long slender arms around Jake and pull him softly towards her... Jake and Neytiri are going back to the tribe, some are still mourning for the many who died just a day ago. Jake knows, as the Toruk Makto is no more in need to save Pandora, so is the need to get the Omaticaya back on their feet, a home, a new beginning. Meanwhile we see the helicopter next to the damaged remote outpost with the avatar link units, work is underway to get it fixed so that a breathable atmosphere can be reestablished inside. To find a new home tree proves a bit tricky since the Na'vi require the right flow of energy and the appearance of Eywa around and inside it. Mo'at dismisses several potential home locations and explains Jake why it is so important for the Omaticaya to chose the right place to live. A night passed.. and another one... Some older Na'vi and young children apparently feel unwell, their throat hurts and they get red spots on their chest. Many are getting nervous and believe it was the presence of the sky people who poisened Eywa's children (the planet and its organisms and spirit). Jake wishes so much for Grace to return, but he knows she will be with Eywa forever.
**days later**
The Omaticaya finally got Mo'ats approval for a suitable home. A tree, half day march away from the tree of the souls, slightly smaller than the original home tree. The flow of positive Energy and the presence of Eywa is strong here, though. This is the right place. Work has begun to establish all the treebeds and the central meeting place. It is the first time all Na'vi can be seen working at the same time. Some adults start to feel weak, too and the young children and older ones start to get fever, their body is sometimes trembeling. Jake start to feel guilty for all what humanity has brought to this planet. The many who died in the battle a week ago are not enough, now the slow death seems to encroach. Even Mo'at and the tree of souls, nor the remaining human scientists, who are living in the repaired outpost cant cure them. She cries in front of the tree of souls.
***a day later inside the outpost***
Norm, Jeff and Max (the only three humans left on Pandora by now) are sitting in front of a screen, reviewing data retrieved from probes measuring the athmospheric composition, sun radiation and water quality. Another blood sample of an ill tribe member comes under the bio-scanner. They have been working for days and nights to find answers or at least some hints. The facilities on the RDA base are lacking power since the bulldozer crossed its perimeter on the day of the battle and devastated its energy grid.
'Jeff,' Norm said while leaning over the newest results from the blood sample 'I guess I got the answer. Its the ash from the home-tree bombing, it rained down for days and is damaging the loungues of our Na'vi friends out there.'
Jeff stares at Norm, while Max is rushing in: 'How many of the tribe are affected?' Norm is wiping his eyes: 'I fear its all of them, since they all were in the fall-out zone, that material is poisonous to them and its a matter of time when it breaks out on everyone.'
'Oh my holy..!' Max bursts out 'how can we get this done with our extremely limited capacities here?!' Jeff shakes his head 'I guess we are responsible for the extinction of a whole tribe...'
***In the mid of the night***
The new hometree is in silence, the Omaticaya tribe is taking rest, the faint light of the bioilumicent vegetation shines through the hometree. Jake and Neytiri lie in the same tree-bed, tightly cuddled. She wears some more colorful decoration than before. Her eyes are closed and her mouth looks like having a relaxed smile. Jake's ears start to move slightly. Suddenly a roaring sound, somewhere high above the area.
Someone from downstairs screams up, the sky people are returning(!) Jake's eyes are opening widely as Neyriti is searching the sky for that craft. Its not visible anymore, though but she can still hear the fading sounds, she knows the direction where the sounds are from, that thing must have landed on the closed RDA base. She looks at Jake with tears in her eyes, asking him why they come back. (...) Immediately Jake and Trak 'ah (a senior warrior) swinging themselves on their mountain banshees (Jakes original one is still loyal to him) and heading towards the skies. Neytiri is calling her own ikran and follows them into the night sky. Jake, Neytiri and Trak'ah are sitting on a tall tree, close to the RDA base with view into it. The big shuttle craft can be seen on the apron, the rear hatch opened and humans rushing out right into the complex. Neytiri is getting furious with tears in her eyes and wants to immediately calls everyone for combat but Jake calms her temper down. However, not even he could ever expect they come back.. after just a WEEK. He talks quietly to Neytiri and Trak'ah and their decision has been made. Tomorrow at dawn they will get everyone available of the clan to get to the base and get the humans to leave FOR EVER.
***next morning, dawn***
The Omaticaya are still resting in their tree beds as it starts to get light. Jake and Neytiri are already awake, jumping elegantly out of their joint tree bed. Trak'ah is waking up among others, starting to sing a war song. Others of the clan are waking up, those next to the meanwhile high number of ill looking na'vis had another bad night, too less sleep, too many times waking up to feed their ill loved ones,.. Suddenly some are pointing into the sky and shout something in na'vi. A tiny, obviously unmanned craft is approaching the tribe. Chaos emerges, the warriors are aming at the tiny round craft and attacking it, others are walking away from the tree. Jake jumps on his ikran as the craft starts to send a message in na'vi. 'We see you, we are back on Pandora in emegrency, our energy to drive our ship is not sufficient to get us home, we need your help to leave Pandora and let you live in peace.' Jake cant believe what he's hearing at the moment, Neyriti stands slightly behind Jake and her eyes express suspicion and discomfort. All in a sudden, another craft roars up and as the helicopter swings in to touch down, literally everyone of the tribe is aiming their arrows at the landing craft... Jake turns to his Omaticaya fellowers and rises his arms for a calm down, telling them to let them (humans)explain why they are here again. After what happened, it can be easily seen that many Omaticaya warriors still refuse to drop their arrows. The left hatch of the craft opens. A guy which has Jake has seen on the command deck quite a while ago comes out with his exopack, unarmed. He stands, turns back and waiving out someone else.
Selfridge steps out, although very slowly. More arrows are going up and pointing at him. Jakes eyes are widening, Neytiri's mouth becomes a faint line. Her face was never so cold before. Trak'ah steps closer to Jake, asking him if he shouldnt instantly kill Selfridge. Jake blocks him off.
'Let them say what they have to say, we will then see what we do with them'. Selfridge looks freightened as the much taller Na'vi surround him, his co-worker and the craft closer.
Selfridge begins: 'I am sorry..I am so sorry what happened to you what we have done to you,...' Neyriti's face is frozen '.. we are here without arms, totally. We fully understand you may disagree from the beginning but we need your help to get back to our home.'
>Some rumbling sounds from the crowd<
'What do you expect us to do to get you off Pandora?' Jake asks with a fierceful face.
'We calculated that we need just 150 kilogrammes of Unobtanium, we could...'
Neytiri roars up, jumps out of the crowd, grabs Selfridge with her right hand on his chest, violently pushes him against the cockpit window of the craft, his feet hanging above the ground.
'You.. you killed so many of ourr people... and you killed MY FATHER, I should kill you.. now!' Jake jumps into the scene as Neytiri is about to get her knife out while Selfridge starts to choke, his legs trembeling.
'Neytiri! Get him down, PLEASE!' Jake begs..
Neytiri looks at Jake, then back to Selfridge, scorning him in na'vi.. releasing him as he falls down to the ground. 'Rwuaah!' A hefty short sound comes out of Neytiri's mouth as she stands above Selfridge who is slowly moving to regain control of himself.
'My wife can't forgive you, so can't I' Jake says 'And we will let you get off our world.'
