IMO it only fits if it takes place on earth. The 'next war' has to CHANGE something sustainably.

I've heard of the full blown war thing, I'm guessing we might see something on the level of "The Empire Strikes Back" where the war between the Empire and the Rebels heats up and becomes rather one sided because the Empire is winning, or similar to "Aliens" were we have the Colonial Marines going on a full blown war and rescue mission against the xenomorphs.
It means "Wind Rider" in Na'vi.

"Wall-mounted keyboards? It must be THE FUTURE!"
    - Crow, MST3K "Space Mutiny"

"They set out from Plymouth and landed IN Plymouth! How lucky is that?!"
~ Eddie Izzard "The First Thanksgiving"

"There are many dangers on Pandora, and one the most stubtlest is that you may come to love it too much."
    - Dr. Grace Augustine, "Avatar"

I just hope it does not mean all action the entire way through the movie. That would just get to be mind-numbing and probably void of any substance. Plus, it's Cameron directing it so I doubt he would go that route anyway. I think the full-on war is just hype really. I am sure there will be plenty of action and it will top the first Avatar in scale and scope but doubtful it's going to be sustained during the entire film.

    full blown wars are boring
How often can you blow things up before the audience nods off?

Cameron said himself that this is his most personal project. Even if he makes Avatar 2 full blown war, I'm sure he won't do it just action. Whatever has made Avatar special, I think will be included in Avatar 2.

If there is a full war, then I will boycott the movie, for sure.
I loathe war, abuse and conflict.
I think there was more than enough violence and conflict and lack of ethnic culture, dialogue and an interesting and surprising storyline in Avatar I ( and still I loved it to bits), and do not think the sequel needs even more hatred and destruction. Instead I had really hoped for Cameron to focus on the tribal life with its goings on, and the relationships between people in the tribe and how they rebuild Pandora after the abuse it suffered at the hands of the irresponsible, insensitive, moneygrabbing and warmongering humans.
To hear that Cameron is about to sell himself to Fox Entertainment co cheaply to earn money from us fans and other interested in Avatar by making a simple movie about war would be disgraceful, as the owners Fox Entertainment are very one sided and thrive on war, weapons, movie merchandise and dumbing down products.
They are very apt at manipulate people to buy whatever they try to sell us, making us go against our original thought, which hopefully is to make a difference, to try and end this downward spiral of overblown consumerism.
If they make an Avatar II, III or even IV, the uninformed mainstream will still go see it because it has the name "Avatar".
Imagine the sequel. The name of the movie is "Avatar II." It is a full blown war. People plants and animals die left and right, blood almost spatters the audience in a Terminator meets Mel Gibson sort of way, there are Avatar drivers, but they pack heavy weapons and dress like the humans who drive them, and somewhere, amidst all death and destruction, is a reference to Eywa, One minute and thirtyfive seconds of indigenous Na'vi screentime, a space-shot of Pandora, and one Atokirina seed. Amidst all the war and chaos.
It would still be Avatar, but it would have become a brand, a brand to cheat the uninformed masses of fans to go pay for, and see, a movie which is completely against the soul of non-commercialism, peace, independence, harmony and understanding.
I bet some people would see the possible following movies after the sequel even if there may be no connection to Pandora or the Na'vi at all anymore, and the Avatar drivers connect with other species whose planets they want to exploit.
And Fox Productions would not be late in pumping the market full of merchandise, for people to consume because they "like the non-conforming message of the movie", making these people forget the true spirit of independency from commercialism and consumerism, which is "Get for your self only that which is neccesary, do not let the media moguls cheat you with their cheap tricks, and do not consume more than you need."
Is a McDonald's Happy Meal two inch plastic Na'vi with joints at it's arms and legs really necessary?
Is a Barbie horse sized Palukkan with inbuilt battery powered roar and movable limbs necessary?
And what about all those "Avatar"-labelled four-coloured glossy posters, printed t-shirts, books, CD's, DVD's mugs, lunchboxes, action figures, stickers, wigs, tootbrushes, and bedspreads?
I may be rambling, and the text I have written might seem off topic, but as I see it, all these topics of which I so passionately speak of are connected to eachother.
I loved the first movie, but if there is an all out war in Avatar II and Cameron promotes it,
I will NOT see the it.
    Definitely not.
I will also advise my friends, Avatar-fans and other people to boycott it as well.
