We all know Avatar is like the best movie ever made! Disagree if you want...

But what can possibly be better in Avatar 2? What things in Avatar 2 can be fixed from Avatar?

Even better CGI :O?
Even better story? :P
Even more Jake x Neytiri moments :D?!

Whatever you think could be better.

I think Avatar 2 could not be better then the one,

I compare Avatar 1 to the speed of light.
It's impossible reach the speed of light, but you could always be able to get closer.

In a way, it would be probably better. Cameron has a very interesting track record when it comes to sequals: Aliens and Terminator 2 are often cited as being good sequals to the originals. This comes in the face of other sequals either failing or loosing track of the overall story (like with Transformers 2).

Better graphics is likely, even just with the improvements in technology. I'm hoping for higher resolution too :nsmile:
As for better story, that depends what happens. Jake and Neytiri moments are almost guaranteed though :ntongue:

It will be pretty hard to top the first movie, but if anyone can do it, James can.

Well of course Aliens and Terminator 2 are as equal as their originals and some sequels can be better than the first like Toy Story 2, Empire Strikes Back, Two Towers, SPider-Man 2, Superman 2, Dark Knight etc.

I don't think sequels are ever better than the original. No sequel can ever capture that initial excitement of a new story and just in general, sequels seem to have poorer plots and action sequences compared to the original. I wish there were never sequels or at least never anything past a sequel. Some movies just unnecessarily go on and on. Some movies, like Avatar, you can tell there will probably be a sequel by the way it ends but some there is no need to keep going. That's why it appears that most make continuations because the first one was popular and they know they will make just as much money again if they make another one.

I'm just afraid that Avatar 2 would be made just for the sake of making it ( making money), that would be disastrous !

On the other hand I have confidence in JC, he could have started making Avatar years earlier but he did not, he wanted to be perfect and waited for the right time to do it so.

Let's wait and hope to be pleasantly surprised ;)

> JC already have the overall story done, so I'm sure it'll rock. I'm more interested on how's he gonna link the two movies. I already know that Grace will return since she was with Eywa, and not dead. But what's the movie's story will be about.... What's a "full-scale war"?

To be perfectly honest...I think a sequel would ruin it...
thats like trying to paint a second part to the "mona lisa"...you cant...The art is beautiful the way it is.

The ending was great! what more can they possibly do with it?

Honestly, people should stop creating these threads. The next movie is still a few years down the road. I don't think it will such though. After all, JC made Avatar in a way that it would be open for sequels.

James Cameron is one of the very few directors to prove that sequels can be better than the first movie in the series by making Terminator 2: Judgement Day and Aliens so I'm highly confident that Avatar 2 will be better than Avatar.
