The Atlantis Theory

I have an hypothesis myself, that Atlantis may have existed. Not as the Greeks pictured it; but rather like an advanced society just like ours, with computers and high-tech devices. Just imagine how distorted a relate about it may have ended up after several centuries, when they didn't even have the vocabulary for that kind of things.

I base myself in the fact that it just took to ourselves 5000 years to develop ourselves to this point. Why couldn't it be possible another advanced civilization to exist in the previous millenia? I also have the thought that what made the Atlantis civilization was a mayor catastrophe (think about all the cultures referring to a massive flood), maybe caused by the Atlants themselves.

Our Ancients (Mesopotamics, Egyptians, Greeks,...) might have been the survivors of this incident, and collected the culture given by them.

Anyway in theory, everything is possible...

Ancient theories suggest that Atlantis was a Super advanced Superstate that existed around 10.000 B.C. The "Titanomachy" is said to have actually been a World War that happened between the two superpowers of the world, Atlantis and The Ells ( Greeks ). The result was a massive weapon that sunk Atlantis to the bottom of the sea and the happening where transfered from reality to myth.

And before Prometheus comes (:nwink:) - scientific historical data has confirmed that the 'flooding' 10,000 years ago was caused by an ice wall that kept a massive lake trapped inland in Canada - melted and released huge flood waters that raised the ocean levels by as much as 240 feet (I think) in some areas. But that does not invalidate your theory .. Atlantis could be even older than that!

Yes, I know all about Lake Agassiz....covered more than 500000 sqkm and was up to 1000 feet deep in many places. When it broke through the ice dam and the terminal moraine, it flooded the Atlantic with that much freshwater it triggered the Younger Dryas.

I Honestly dunno what exactly happened nor if it existed or not. what the greek said can apply to an advanced nation as to some Aliens..

But after revising some stone-age drawings, Tasilli cave paintings in Algerie and similar paintings found in Italy (detailed info here (http://www.crystalinks.com/ancientastronauts.html). Note even there is similar drawings in US.)

So, this drawings show us something like advanced nation. maybe Atlantis, maybe not. Maybe those people are our ancestors and after the flood/armageddon we forgot everything about it and started over. Remember that the Greeks took their stories from an Egyptian monk or something :)

That's right. The philosopher Herodotus heard the stories about Atlantis off Egyptian priests when he visited Egypt back around 600BC.

One of the mysteries about Atlantis civilization is that it it was destroyed by a cataclysmic explosion(as also described by Plato), which many modern day researchers had found to be due to some kind of atomic explosion. Actually these researches have gotten minute traces of nuclear radiation from under the sea which bordered the places of the Atlantis civilization, thus supporting their hypothesis to a certain extent.
Moreover I remember that in one of the channels, it was shown that a huge submerged part of a wall had been unearthed below the mediterranean sea. Now the extent of the Atlantis civilization might not have been vast in terms of land area falling under it, but its impact on the subsequent civilizations were remarkable.
The origin of the highly civilized Atlantis people could have been due to one of the following,
1. A group of extraterrestrials could have come on this planet in search of fuel or settlement or whatever. They chose earth as it is a remarkable place to harbor life forms. They then began a series of experiments, based on genetic technology,etc. With the help of their experiments they might have injected a bit of their genetic material into the bodies of the early primates living here. Thus they might have accelerated Darwin's evolutionary process. (This I talk while ignoring for the moment the concept of Panspermia (which says that the seeds of life existed everywhere in our Universe.) As the evolution got accelerated the primates became the early humans. Subsequently, there were more space adventures and earth became a hotspot for these extraterrestrials. A few of them might have even mated with the early humans. They might have also chosen earth since they might have found a remarkable similarity in the anatomy and biological structure of the primates with them.
It also could be that they chose to create humans in their forms, in their likeness.(similarity... with the sayings that every present day religion say that "God created humans in His(actually theirs) likeness.)
Whatever may be the reason from the above, these highly advanced beings incorporated some facets of their highly advanced technologies to human beings. So thus the Atlantis people came into being. The hybrids (humans + extraterrestrials) were subsequently given special importance (Perseus,Hercules, Angels, Enikdu(in Babylonian days)etc.). Thus within a span of say 20,000 years the humans (Atlantis people whose evolution has been accelerated) also became very well developed and were pioneers in different branches of science(of course less than their founders!!).
I would now like to remind that by this time their were subsequent visits by the extraterrestrials on earth with the humans. (The Gods interacted with the humans.) Also their further researches still continued. The human beings were like a bunch of guinea pigs!! The research now focussed on the development of a society on a planet like earth. So that the society may not go down ,certain basic social customs were imparted to the humans (to some special persons who were the Priests,chosen ones). These social customs took the form of ethics or moral values.
NOW, Atlantis prospered and developed, and in around 10,600 B.C. became almost ten times advanced than our present day civilization. Sure enough they might have even discovered the technology behind Quantum teleportation, etc. There was a lurking danger in the minds of the Extraterrestrials who now sought to discontinue their seeding(of exoplanetary society) experiments, because THEY thought that at that rate the humans(Atlantis) might have reached a level from where they could challenge their Creators".
AND THUS CAME THE CATACLYSM (An atomic war) WHICH SADLY RESULTED IN GREAT LOSS OF A GREAT CIVILIZATION, ALONG WITH THE LOSS OF A GREAT KNOWLEDGE, ONLY TO BE RECONSTRUCTED IN BITS , later as it stands today!! OH HOW TERRIBLE WAS IT AS IT MAKES ME SHUDDER!!)

2. The second reason might be that the whole human race came from another planet or by intermingling with ET'S. But now , here there are no concepts of experiments but rather final settlement on the planet earth(like when you are expelled to the praires or to the siberia). Then around 10,600 B.C. there was truly a natural cataclysm which wiped Atlantis out!!

In the first case I want to say that the primates still lived on other parts of earth (North America, Australi, Indonesia etc). Only certain chosen places had been under Alantis!!
NOW, when the civilization got wiped out, the pioneers in those days had settled with the other lesser known primates and passed their knowledge to them in symbolisms, religious texts, riddles, etc). These primates also received the basic hints need, for them to be developed, and build a highly developed society. (Like Feynman had once said " If the whole world gets destroyed the only knowledge which needs to be imparted to the future generations would be the Atomic hypothesis")
Also there could be A WAY that the people from ATLANTIS settled in groups now scattered in different parts of the world and got emerged civilizations which later flourished. Thus came Babylon,Egypt,etc,etc.
The question is why then THOSE extraterrestrials not killed us? The answer is simple ,
(i) We are still one-tenth of what Atlantis once was!!
(ii) THOSE extraterrestrials who were responsible for the CATACLYSM have become extinct due to a similar kind of NATURAL CATACLYSM on their planet and this is more likely!!
Actually I also feel there MAY BE GOOD AND BAD EXTRATERRESTRIALS ALL WORKING UNDER THE SAME TIME DOING experiments on earth.
THE BAD ONES WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR DESTRUCTIONS OF ATLANTIS.
THE GOOD ONES ARE STILL THERE AND HOPE THEY COME AND INTERACT WITH US ON EARTH!
WHO KNOWS IF THE NA'VI ARE A REALITY A COME AND VISIT EARTH SOMETIME WITHIN A FEW YEARS?!!
I would of course then feel very good as I WOULD BE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY WITH NEYTIRI!!

Wow, seems like you have done some reading on what happened to Atlantis, I read all of it but I don't know if E.T.'s had as much to do with it as you mention, but then again what do we know, a lot of what you read on the internet about Atlantis is just speculation.

It seems Zecharia Sitchins Annunaki theories are here. How did ancient Sumeria (Mesopotamia) come up with 100 of civilizations "firsts" 5500 years ago if they got it from aliens and Atlantiis it would make sense.I've been studying Klaus Donas proof of ancient advanced civilizations artifacts of from 17,000 plus years ago that could proove so much. These are excitiong times we live in. If they weren't so toxic, warlike and biggoted it would be lot better.. I love sci-fi/ science fact discussions
