I can see that from my village in Crete :D not as detailed of course. The people here call it "The river Jordan". Legend had it that the river where Christ was baptized reflected to the night sky :D

You sir, are incredibly lucky!

I have only ever really seen the milky way once and that was in Spain.

It must be an awe-inspiring sight!

Yeh at first I sat like hours at the top of my house. Now its everyday stuff :d although I always stare at it for 10 minutes :p Spain you say? That makes sense..

You BOTH are lucky. I live in the city and the light pollution is too much to see even 1 star. :(

I've seen it a few times when i've been out camping far far away from the city. Very beautiful

Look at the stars, 200 billion of them! And people are sceptical of life outside the solar system. Fools.

That's too bad, I love looking at the stars and the milky way from my backyard. I'm only 30 miles (50km) from downtown Los Angeles and I have a great view. It's much better to live on the edge of a large city than in it.

Actually living an a village or going to a village is the best way to admire the night sky. I'm lucky I can do that but living in a village..i cant do that xD I live in downtown Heraklion...Cant see anything here but my village..thats spectacular :D
