Avatar Engraving Exclusively for James Cameron (1 of 1)

Hello Fellow Avatar fam, I told the community in my first post that i would be sharing a project that im working on that has to do with the movie Avatar.......So here it is. Ill be posting up the progress pics of the engraving piece as i go. This project isnt even posted on my own website at the moment. I wanted to give the Avatar-Forum community the first exclusive look. My Ultimate goal for this engraving piece is to get into the hands of James Cameron when completed. Hope Yunz like. Thanks Gunny, im glad you will be checking out the progress. Im not used "movie themes" with my artwork. Most of my creations revolve around exotic cars, high end products, etc....I be more than happy to show you guys more of my works, but first ill stick with showing this project. :)

Are those all lights? That is just.. um...... whats a word beyond awesome? I can't think of it. I can assume you've been working on this ever since the end of December.... wow. I can't possibly fathom how anyone could spend so long on a piece of art lol.

Thanks Apollo, well the average engraving piece that i create takes 100+ engraving hours. Most exotic car piece i create take on the average of 200+ hours. I didnt start this piece in December Apollo, started it after Valentines Day. :)

Im not going to share that info at the moment. Sorry Apollo. For one, im not a sponsor on Avatar-Forum. So i cant be saying that kind of info on a thread. This piece im not selling to James Cameron. This is a gift for him. ;)

this is so cool! you can engrave better than i can draw :P James Cameron would be very happy, and take a picture with him next to the artwork! have you ever engraved parts for custom motor cycles? I know alot of custom bikes have engraving on various parts like motor, handles, oil tank etc..

Thank you, :). Im sure James will be very happy. No, i havent engraved on motorcycles as of yet, but i could see me working on some in the future. Currrently the project that im working on is gonna be a world record. Its not a bike tho......much larger scale. ;) Never been done before so i thought i would give it a shot. :D

I use the 300 series Dremel. I used to use the 400 series Dremel when i first started but i seemed to burn out the 400 series Dremel a lot faster than the 300. I many different bits. Some diamond tip, some for hard metal, soft metal, etc.....The speed settings, angel, and amounts of pressure are the key with getting the effect you want. ;) There are some other methods that i use for my pieces but those are secret. ;)

This is very well done so far, nice work! but you should engrave it the traditional way with a hammer and chisel instead of using a highspeed machine. You mentioned in your first post that you should send this to Mr Cameron, i can't help wondering how you plan on getting it to him.. i just can't see how.

Thanks Moopels, :) There are only a few areas where i used dots. Most of the piece consists of lines. Correct, all of my work is done completely by hand using a dremel tool and various Dremel bits.
