Take a look at the two videos below:

Blaise Aguera y Arcas demos augmented-reality maps | Video on TED.com (http://www.ted.com/talks/blaise_aguera.html)

Lalitesh Katragadda: Making maps to fight disaster, build economies | Video on TED.com (http://www.ted.com/talks/lalitesh_katragadda_making_maps_to_fight_disaster_ build_economies.html)

Do you think that digital mapping is becoming too personal or do you think its helping out with issues around the globe?

Personally, I think its great for doing things from responding to world crisis to even locating a friends house, and I do NOT find its a big breach of privacy considering how this companies are forced to blur out faces and other privacy precautions.

Remember debate this is only about public digital mapping efforts, none of that high-tech military tech should be discussed here.
