View Full Version : Stirring the Cauldron- An Avatar RP (OOC)

I decided I'd try my hand at creating an Avatar RP, so far my others haven't been related to our favorite film.

Here's the basic concept:

Its just under twenty years before Jake arrives on Pandora. The RDA has just been granted the rights to obtain and sell all Pandoran products by the Interplanetary Commerce Administration. This includes Unobtainium. The teams of scientists already in place for several years are now being supplemented with Security Forces and miners. Massive equipment arrives and Hell's Gate earns its nickname.

Its just nine months after the soldiers and miners arrived, and the commencement of strip mining has stirred the cauldron of resentment, the nearby Tipani clan has become increasingly concerned at the encroachment, and tensions are at the boiling point.

Major factions and characters:
RDA: The Resources Development Administration has set up operations from the newly militarized Hell's Gate facility. The scientists who had been the sole visitors to Pandora before mining rights were awarded are still present. They are headed by Doctor Richard Yancey. The newly established SecOps command is headed by a Major Franklin Ross, one of his subordinates is a young Captain Quaritch. The overall head of operations, and Selfridge's predecessor, is Deryk Baxter.

Tipani Clan: The nearest clan to the RDA, the Tipani have been noted for their wood-workings. They are deeply spiritual, and have been stand-offish but polite to the "sky people" so far. But their proximity places them in the line of fire. Their Tsahik is Lertua, an aged and wise leader. Her husband had passed long ago, and the new Olo'eyktan is a young warrior named Pxau.

Omaticaya: This is a peaceful tribe under the leadership the young couple Eytucan and Mo'at. They specialize in textiles. They have no knowledge of what is happening, and little concern for what is so far away.

The Plot: More will be revealed as things progress. But for now, you will get to set the agenda.

Characters: You may choose to play as an RDA human in any capacity. Avatars are brand new technology, so I will allow only two players to use them. And the link process should take about five to six times as long as the process shown in the film.

You may also play as a Na'vi. Have fun!

Please fill out this sheet for character submission:

Name: David Hamre

Race: Human

Affiliation: Manager

Age: 37

Appearance: David has dark grey eyes and a chocolate coloured hair. Scars cross down his back from a pack of viperwolves. Often times seen wearing a flannel T-shirt tan Khakis and a white hard hat with his name "Hamre D." on the front. He also carries a pocket watch made of gold, very rare on Earth many of the Secops troopers try to steal it. Hamre also Carries a SMG, you know. Just in case.

Personality: Though friendly a quick to laugh he is serious about his job. Selfridge is usually always angered at the man he took under his wing. Hamre prefers to be friendly with the natives though he has opened fire on themif he is provoked by the savages. Usually seen in groups with other co workers he has come to enjoy the Pandoran environment even though it tries to kill him on a daily basis.

Name: Mo'loch

Race: Na'vi

Affiliation: Loner

Age: 47

Appearance: Mo'loch stands at 11ft tall. He has golden eyes that glow at night. Bioluminescent dots cover his dark-blue skin. He has long black hair, usually braided. He walks silently among the rainforests of Pandora. He sports common Na'vi garments, the only part of attire that makes him different is the leather scarf covering his mouth and half of the nose.

Personality: Mo'loch is a loner. He enjoys the usual company of some of his close friends he gained among some tribes, but his real place is in the heart of the rainforest, hunting and surviving on his own. He honed his skills as a quick killer and is deadly with a bow as well as blade, if the need arises. He speaks in a cynical, cold manner. He despises the Sky People, considering them a plague that must be gotten rid of as quickly as possible unless it spreads even further on the homeland he loves.

How many people do we need before the RP starts?

Shatnerpossum

Two or three more I think.

I might just post an introduction tomorrow.

By the way, I'll be writing for the major characters I've mentioned.

Eywas Puppet
02-26-2010, 08:08 PM
Name: T'kia
Race: Na'vi
Affiliation: Tipani Clan, hunter.
Age: 19

Appearance: Average size for a na'vi, around 9' tall, with a slender build. Half her head is shaved, and the other half is interwoven with her queue. She has a stud piercing through the bridge of her nose made of nantang bone. She wears a normal loin cloth decorated liberally with beads made of bone and other such material. Around her neck is a necklace with similar beads, but with a disk shaped medallion of what appears to be unobtanium.

She is almost never seen without her weapons of choice; her bow, and two long daggers she keeps sheathed on her back.

Personality: Hot headed and impetuous, T'kia opposes everything the humans stand for. She has a 'gut feeling' that the Sky People will be the downfall of the na'vi and vocally and aggressively opposes them at every opportunity. She often boasts that no Sky Person could be a match for her, and she plans on killing one at the first opportunity to prove it.

OOC: Its late now, and I have a busy weekend, but I'll catch up when I can.

Name: Seth Dean. Aka DINO DEAN
Age: 25
Affiliation: Security detail for reserch team.

Race: Human

Apperance: Dean is tall, six ft six and a half. He's 200 lbs. He Has blue eyes, brown hair. There is a scar from bite marks, he was on patrol when a pack of viper wolves attacked. He wears armor and a helmet that acts as a breather and a comm system. His left leg is synthetic. He took a blast from a grenade launcher back on earth and I blew his leg clean off. His armor is light but strong and flexible enough to possibly deflect an Na'vis arrow. (only it it hits the armor right). Its made of a reincforced titanium/carbon, an invetion of his own. He carrys around four weapons. All fit on to his armor. His primary is a high imact rifle that can blow a limb off a Na'vi. It uses a five round magazine and fires very slowly. His second is a compact grenade launcher. The third is an old revolver. The fourth is a extreamly compact flamethrower. It doesn't have much reach but the damage it does makes up for the lack of range. (Its almost like the little flamethrower Boba Fett has).

Background: Dean was a mercenary on earth. He was born in to war and basicaly became a career soldier. He went with a research team to pandora. There he learned the land and came to respect nature. his respect for nature was noticed by the Na'vi and caused a friendship with a hunter. But now that even the RDA has shown up. He doesn't take any orders from anyone other than a member of the research team.

(and shatner if there's something wrong with any of this. Please tell me)

I think another Na'vi character would be good, but I guess I just prefer RPing as humans.
Name: Simon Deegran, PhD
Race: Human
Affiliation: Scientist
Age: 32
Appearance: five feet and twelve inches tall, brown hair, light green eyes, prefers corrective lenses to glasses, usually sports a light beard, most often wears a pathology coat during work. Not especially muscular or athletic.

Personality: Simon has been hired by RDA for one reason - in his research conducted on Earth he showed no moral qualms about borderline unethical conduct. Even though sometimes perceived as just repulsive character-wise, he is also intelligent and showed creativity in his work. He usually keeps to himself and is not likely to disturb the "higher-ups", as long as he can continue his work. That is not to say he will bow to them, but he won't try to start a rebellion. Generally unliked by his peers, even though respected for the papers he published.

Gaming example: Videolog Entries' Nathan Raymond.

Alright, Alright. Thank EON but i guess I'm onboard for this one too. ONE character, though. And I won't make him AS good as others I have. I don't mind being a support (although I believe my Halo Character was support as well... hmm...)

Name: Carl T. Williams

Race: Human, White

Affiliation: RDA Goon (A Merc)

Age: 26

Appearance: Military Shave, Military Cap, mask, Military issued Tank-Top with his regular coat tied around his waist, and the vest on as well. He's clean shaven, looks a little younger then he is. Like to chew on stuff, whether it be gum, grass, Pandoran Plantlife, or Chewing Tobacco when he gets it.

Personality: Carl was a regular man, hard times in the Greenhouse farms, and after being laid off he moved in with his brother. His brother, an ex-Navy Seal, was itnerested in heading off to Pandora, to continue work. So, Carl naturally thought it would be a new experience, and a decent paycheck, if he went as well. He's very itnerested in all aprts of the Pandora Project. Although he didn't have the schooling needed to be an engineer or a scientist, he still is VERY interested in how all that works.

Gaming example:

Carl sat in a room, watching the last bit of the propaganda video before they started their training to be Mercinaries.... well.... "RDA Security Forces". Carl wasn't in the army, but he knew that what theyw ere showing was more advancing techniques then "Security". So, this might be fun. He gets to use BIG guns, too.

"So, what do you think?" said Dan, Carl's brother sitting next to him.

"I think they're over-propaganding it," said Carl, "I mean, it just looks like a jungle. We got tigers and Rhinos here."

"It's not the same," said Dan, "Look, I might not know Pandora, but I know war. Pay attention, and follow the rules. Then you'll survive."

"I'll follow my own rule, that should keep me alive," said Carl, moving the unlit cigarrete in his mouth he had been chewing on.

"Oh yeah? And what rule is that?" asked Dan.

"Kill on Sons-Of-Bitches!" said Carl, "If it moves, and we don't like it..."

Carl made a gun with his hand, and pretended to shoot at an unseen enemy.

"Oh, god..." said Dan, "Mom was right, you ARE going to die before me."

"Mom's dead, how much does she know?" said Carl.

"Look, you need to WAKE the hell up, ok?" said Dan, "I am SICK of burrying Family member, you listening to me?"

"No," said Carl.

"Ugh! Like a CHILD!" exclaimed Dan, and he crossed his arms.

Carl sat there, keeping his arms crossed, staring at the screen. Dan shook his head, unhappy at the turn of events.

"I Promise," said Carl, "I'll pay attention, I won't die out there."

Dan looked back, and he nodded lightly.

"But my rule stands," said Carl, "Kill all Sons-Of-Bitches."

Okay, here's mine, too :D

Name: Mary Simmons

Race: Human / white

Affiliation: Scientist / Avatar Driver

Age: 30

Appearance:
Mary is an average sized, slim woman with long brown hair, brown eyes and a rather attractive face. All in all she epitomizes the look of the average itself. She isn’t really remarkable in her appearance and voice, but she is quite sympathetic in her behaviour.

Personality:
As a very quiet and introverted person, Mary never had much friends or experiences with social interactions, but she always appeared to be much faster and a much quicker thinker than anybody else in her university. So she was chosen for the avatar-programm, which gave her the self-esteem she missed before.
Apart from her calm behaviour, she is a friendly and open-minded person, but she is mostly focussing on her scientific work and the training with her Avatar.

Gaming example:

“What…” Mary glanced into the tank, in which a large blue, female body swam. “This is mine?” She examined the body structure, the face that was so much like her own face. She had waited for this “thing” for years.
Marc Verst nodded slightly. “Yeah. Today we want you to do drive it the first time.”
Mary turned away from the tank. “So let’s do it.”

A few hours later she laid down in the prototype, called “Daisy”. The smell of burned wires filled the laboratory. Mary hit the cover open and coughed little clouds of smoke.
“Fourth try, another fail. What the hell is up with this thing?” The helpless faces of the other scientists glanced at her. She decided to get herself a coffee.

“Okay, Take 12, Simmons, Mary. Start at 0200.” The cover shut close. This time, no smell, no loud noise hinting at something’s broken again, only a loud buzzing. And then… a bright light. Mary’s jaw was dropping, as her mind was sucked into a long and bright, colourful tunnel of light and feelings.

After a long while, one of the Avatars in the testchamber slowly opened it’s eyes.
“Damnit!” it said.

Name: Tel'chak

Race: Na'vi

Affiliation: Tipani Clan Warrior, Commander of the Palulukan Guards

Age: 28

Appearance: Standing at ten and a half feet tall, Tel'chak is slightly taller than the average Na'vi and far stronger due to his quite muscular physique. For a Na'vi, he is quite handsome although that is countered by his intimidating deep golden yellow eyes and the jagged, gruesome scars across his body from numerous skirmishes. Proudly wears red-orange warpaint and dons himself in bone armor made from the body of a Thanator he killed as well as decorates his dreadlocks with beautifully colored feathers. In addition to wielding bow and arrows and a dagger, Tel'chak also carries a swordlike mace that looks like the Aztec Macuahuitl with the wood made from the Tipani Hometree and the blades from Thanator teeth. The versatile weapon functions as both a bladed and bludgeoning weapon, able to cut through light armor and flesh as well as crush bone. He also has a feathered shield made out of the thick hide of a Hammerhead Titanothere that's usually strapped to his left arm but can be strapped on his back, along with his mace, when he's wielding his bow.

Personality: Though he is the Tipani Clan's most respected warrior, Tel'chak is silent and intimidating as his own clan fears him as much as his enemies do. Nevertheless, he has sworn to protect the clan that has provided him with a home ever since his parents were killed by a rival clan when he was young and he had to survive by himself in the hostile Pandoran jungles. Tel'chak, possibly due to his tragic childhood, is also very pessimistic, believing that his life really has no purpose which is a reason why he has not chosen a mate or bonded with a Direhorse or Ikran. Towards the Sky People, he has not expressed open hostility yet but he believes that they will bring about the destruction of the People and their world.

Name: Azumamaro Nakanishi
Species/Clan: Human
Occupation: Avatar Driver/Sociologist/Cultural Analyst
Age: Human (32) Na'vi (21)
Gender: Male

Personality: Very confident, almost to the point of arrogance. He enjoys his life on Pandora much more so than on earth. Sees this world as a chance to start over and live his life again. Though he can rub people the wrong way at times, he is fiercely protective of those he sees as allies and comrades, and he, at times, shows a softer side of himself that seems at odds with his normal behavior.

Backstory: Azumamaro is a japanese researcher with the RDA on the Avatar project. He left Earth because his life was seemingly falling apart. He lost his parents at a young age, and he had caught his ex-wife cheating on him. All of his bonds broken with his former home, he set out to Pandora in search of a new life. Unlike other Avatar scientists, who focus on botany and experimenting with the flora and fauna, Azumamaro is more interested in studying and learning the Na'vi culture. His goal is to become one of the People, and to learn from them...

Appearance: Azumamaro appears as a standard Avatar, blue skin, golden eyes, and five fingers. However, signs of his Japanese ancestry also show up in his Avatar’s looks, his eyes still have that familiar slight tilt shared amongst the Japanese and his skin color is slightly lighter than most other Na’vi. He shares similar features in his human form. His hair is jet black and his eyes dark. He has a very pale complexion, just like his avatar.

Name: Ma’rali

Race: Na’vi

Affiliation: formal hunter

Age: 24

Appearance: Ma’rali is a tall and skinny Na’vi, looking a little bit like she had starved for long time. Her body-colour seems to be less intense than normal, her eyes are big and amber-coloured, mostly one of them is covered with an open strand of her black hair hanging over her forehead. Apart from her starved look, she has a really pretty face with a serious but loving appearance. The most eyecatching thing in her appearance is the missing left arm right below the shoulder. The stub had healed a long time ago, but it took a lot of the normal Na’vi grace.

Personality: Ma’rali was a good hunter years ago, an open minded, very happy young Na’vi, till the day, they met the small group of soldiers. It was her first contact with the skypeople and she lost her arm by a dozen of bullets . Since this day, her face got hard and smiles rarely cross it. She isn’t able to hunt anymore, but she cares with alot of love for the children of the clan and invented her own way of working, using her feet as a second hand.

Gaming example:
A small piece of wood was sticking between Ma’rali’s blue toes, while the blade of her knife was hewing it with incredible speed and elicited the shape of a small thanator puppy out of the wood. The children’s faces around her seemed to gleam a little bit up, when they recognized, what had been hidden in this small piece of wood.
A small but loving smile flashed for a second on Ma’rali’s face. She loved to bring out, what slumbered in the pieces of Eywa. And she loved to show it to the kids. Marali cutted two more little lines, then she took the wooden thanator puppy from her toes and handed it to the child next to her.
“Take care, Ake’tuan! It’s only a puppy, it needs to be taken care of!“ She laughed one of her rare laughing, then immediately stopped when the kid carefully touched the stump of her arm. His golden eyes looked at her full of sadness.
“Why did Eywa let ssis happen?” He was lisping because of his giant tooth space.
Ma’rali sighed quiet. “Sometimes the definition of balance is different from Eywa’s definition to it I guess.” She shrugged. “And without that loss, I wouldn’t be able to give this little puppy to you. Or what do you think?”
“I like you wissout an arm aswell.” The little boy gave her a huge, toothspaced grin and ran away with his new toy.

Simon is going for a hunting trip to the jungle and I thought having him actually catch a Na'vi or two would make the atmosphere more tense. If someone is willing to participate (of course no killing of player characters; we can settle an escape scenario here or by PM), you're welcome to do so. Your character will spend some time away from the clan village though.

Shatner, just want to ask you a question before we continue. If it's not clear, my character will most likely be totally going native with the Tipani.

Anyway, the real question I want to ask, is it going to be possible to attempt to pass through the Eye of Eywa and do the conciousness transfer at some point in the future? I think my character would try it, when it gets to that point.

Shatnerpossum
03-05-2010, 07:26 AM
I think we should leave that out. Or if you really have your heart set on it, it should fail.

I wasn't planning on doing it anytime during the middle of the RP, more at the end so that it wouldn't mess with the story.

I'm lost... Are we talking about the same thing here?

I was referring to permenantly transferring Azumamaro's conciousness into his Avatar via the Tree of Souls.

I don't know how that would be able to explain restrictions on the program, so please clarify.

Shatnerpossum
03-05-2010, 08:08 AM
ie the tighter controls over the program we see in the film. That could be explained if your guy "went native."

109th Star
03-05-2010, 08:10 AM
Oh, I get it now... Yeah I could see it. He'd totally epic fail at trying to keep up with the Tipani and he gets them to really start working on tightening the link.

Didn't even think of that...

Shatnerpossum
03-05-2010, 08:14 AM
I was thinking he sides with the Tipani, gives them info. They try to transfer his consciousness and fail. They use the info and cause some damage, RDA retaliates hard and wins. Tighter restrictions, more military presence, leadership change.

109th Star
03-05-2010, 08:18 AM
Oh okay, yeah I could see that.

I'm not very keen on my guy dying, but eh, at least it would be a good death.

Shatnerpossum
03-05-2010, 08:21 AM
Well, the transfer can't be successful. We don't want to steal the movie's thunder.

So if you don't him to die, he'll need to be caught and sent back.

109th Star
03-05-2010, 08:25 AM
Actually, IIRC, the video games are canon, and in the cell phone game the Tipani did transfer someone successfully before the events in the movie, if that's what your worried about.

Also, the film takes place with an entirely different clan. We're not sure exactly how much interaction the Omaticaya have with the Tipani.

Either way though, it's your RP. My dude will probably try it either way.

Shatnerpossum
03-05-2010, 08:31 AM
I'm wary of the game. I'm largely unfamiliar with it. If you wish to integrate it, then feel free to try.

I just think its lame if the movie's dramatic special act is overdone in fanfics and RPs. And games.

109th Star
03-05-2010, 08:40 AM
That's true. Like I said dude, it's your call, it is your RP after all. I'm just giving out the facts. I'm cool with however you decide to let it go.

However, a little off-topic, if you plan on reading a lot of fanfics, I would expect almost every one of them to do it at some point, especially ones where Norm's Avatar lives through the final battle. Because it's one of the key scenes of the movie is why people will emulate it. I know I'm guilty of doing it in my Fanfics.

Dr. Maltner

Regarding the lab situation:
the rampage that just happened is plotwise over the top. Seth, as a character, even before shooting people made some crucial decisions that would exclude him from the operation. A critical wound to one character and a debilitating one to another, plus a Na'vi that's almost broken loose. Trying to salvage the situation at this point would be practically pointless, so I suggest we rewind - that is, we decide on where we want to go back to (I propose before Seth releases the wires holding T'kia) and either work out some crucial things we want and don't want to happen (like Carl probably dying) in PMs or in this thread, or just proceed without all the carnage.

Dr. Maltner
03-07-2010, 12:04 PM
I propose that you don't release T'kia, at least not in this situation, since you're practically killing the character now. Why? T'kia is not going to waste any chances and, as Eywa's Puppet's posts shows, she attacks the first human that isn't slumped on the ground with a wound. Simon isn't an idiot, there is no situation where someone waltzed into his lab and freed a Na'vi and he wouldn't press the emergency button.

This is exactly why T'kia will die in this situation. She, per her bio, is eager to kill a human. She uses the chance and jumps on the lab assistant. A few seconds later, the alarmed security team bursts into the room, pointing guns at the Na'vi.

The only thing Simon can do now is come to terms with losing the specimen and shout "shoot it!" while lying on the ground.

And that's where T'kia dies.

So I propose that we rewind to before you free her. You can be threatening and introduce tension, but not this type of chaos (unless the people taking part in it agree in PMs).

Kestor
03-07-2010, 12:09 PM
I like eonmokri's post. We can put it before Seth frees T'kia. Mary can introduce calmness to the situation. And then the SecOps arrive and everything chaotic stops there.

Dr. Maltner
03-07-2010, 12:17 PM
The SecOps would have to be searching for personnel to deal with the Na'vis spotted dangerously close to the perimeter, since they won't appear in the lab unless Simon directly requests so, or pushes the emergency button.

Kestor
03-07-2010, 12:19 PM
Well, you can have him pushing the button as a precaution, when Seth is close to releasing T'kia.

Dr. Maltner
03-07-2010, 12:25 PM
That could work. I think we should finish deleting posts first.

You didn't die, but the wound would most probably be fatal. To sum what just happened up:
1. Simon sees that Seth is about to do something irresponsible (release T'kia), he urges him to stop and tells his assistant to prepare a mix of vecuronium and other paralyzing agents, since injecting the Na'vi would be his only chance of surviving.
2. Seth disregards Simon's request, loosens the wires that keep T'kia on the gurney, pulls out his gun.
3. Simon doesn't panic, but announces that Seth has probably just killed everyone in the room. My post:

Simon looked at the scene unfolding in front of him as the wires started to loosen. He pressed the emergency button behind his back and wondered if the native would realize that in a few seconds she would be able to take her limbs out of the wires and how much time would pass before the security got to the lab. He looked at the men in the room, his mind racing fast.
"Congratulations, Seth." He said calmly. "You've probably just killed us all."
"Carl, hold the wires by the legs."
Simon tried to place his hand on the wire by the Na'vi's left arm. He saw Seth drawing the gun.
"You better point this at the Na'vi if you plan on surviving this."
4. Seth decides to shoot both Deegran and Carl. Deegran gets shot in the shoulder, which would probably mean long rehabilitation before the arm being operational again. Carl gets shot in the stomach, which means acid and blood filling his abdominal cavity. Unless he got operated on immediately, he would probably die within the next fifteen minutes (assuming one of the major arteries was not hit). After the operation, he would probably spend a few weeks in the hospital.

Dang. Take a little road trip and avoid the computer for a while, and it gets crazy.

Fix this. I want all posts after the incident deleted, lets "start again on a clean table." Yes, that was an RP joke for you regs.

Yeah, roger that. Did it on my end. All my posts after the shooting spree are gone.

Hey Shatner, is a battle going on in the jungle now? If so, are the SecOps fighting the Tipani or another clan.

It appears a battle has opened up. And I believe the RDA is fighting your guards.

I still don't get it.

Why are Simon and Carl in jail? Looking at it from the RDA regulations perspective, Seth was the aggressor, not them. If someone breaks into your house and you manage to call the cops, they arrest the person who broke in, not *you*. (well, you might be called to the station for a report, but definitely not jailed.)

I believe Ross would want them all there so nothing happens and then the situation could be resolved right then and there. Seth was agressive but did no harm other than some verbal abuse. He threatened but never acted. He also tried to resolve it with Simon, until Ross showed up and locked them up

They need to lose, and lose badly. RDA has taken too many casualties all ready, we need to be serious about this. The Na'vi need to get hit hard.

And the plan for my character. I don't know. Definately not going to go along with the RDA. The plan for 109 star is to join the Na'vi right? They could use a human ally. Maybe?

Kestor

Your character already f*cked up with the RDA. Presuming you can escape the compound somehow (which I doubt it's possible right now), your only options are to either wander Pandora on your own, hiding from Na'vi and RDA alike, or join the Na'vi. But you gotta gain their trust, and in this human-native war situation, it's pretty hard to do it.

109? You mean the Jake reincarnation? Yeah... I guess that's his plan. I didn't really have a plan... where I saw this goin is down the tube. That's why it's an RP then... unfortunatley my character is getting more and more pissed as time goes on. I can't help it, character development.

My charcter has some leverage with the natives. But not much. More than likely I'm going to try and have him join the Na'vi. Even if it means negative concequences for him. He had a small outburst against the keeping of T'kia. It's not like he went on a killing spree. Heh. Any friendship with simon and Carl is ****ed though.

Could I get a full recap on the Na'Vi side of things please.... I'm kinda lost and SOMEONE wants to make me make a Na'Vi character....

Spectre
03-29-2010, 01:34 PM
Name: Markus Lindemann
Race: Human
Affiliation: Spec Ops for the RDA, Marksman.
Age: 35
Appearance: Strong upper body strength, athletic legs, and carries a .75 caliber sniper rifle with 10x zoom capability, also carries a few packs of different ammo types, such as incendiaries.. Has the general appearance of a 30 year old.
Personality: Battle-hardened marine. He'll rarely speak, and when he does it never involves his feelings or past. Not quick to make friends, but quick to make "Combat Buddies."
Gaming example: An oddity could be noticed this night. Some perceptive people would have noticed there was a patch of fauna, that was moving ever so slowly. Look closer, and this patch of grass had eyes, behind a plastic mask lay a pinkish-white primate's face. His dog tags hung by a necklace, with the name Markus Lindemann engraved into them. He held his .75 caliber sniper rifle in the proper position, remaining prone to stay hidden. He put the crosshair of the scope on the head of a mother Viperwolf. Without a word, a grunt, or any other sound, he pulled the trigger. The sound of a passing mosquito was heard as the bullet was shot from the barrel of his gun. The shell had already popped out of the gun when Markus grabbed the projectile, to leave no evidence. The Viperwolf was down within moments, it's pups scattered in fear. Markus got up from his position, and made his way towards his fallen target, the floor beneath his boots glowing as he stepped. He slung his weapon, and picked up the beast, questioning why the commander had sent him on this particular mission. After all, it didn't seem to have much of a point...........

Not sure if this is needed anymore, with all the Na'Vi returning, but if I am to make a Na'Vi characters I still need this because rereading the ENTIRE RP just so I can get 100% sure about the Na'Vi side just isn't something I have time for, I am sorry.

Seeing as this isn't linked to Northern Tribe RP - do you reckon I could use Tony "Zax" Johnson again but with several differences? (don't worry Shatner, nothing weird this time, he's just a Samson pilot)

I don't mind, it's just I'd rather not have to think up an entirely new name for someone with the same characteristics and nickname as before.

Yeah sure, you can recycle characters if you want.

Colonel Quaritch

Name: Lieutenant Tony "Zax" Johnson

Gender: Male

Age: 24

Appearance: Slight build. Wears an olive green jumpsuit with a tactical vest and a pilot's helmet (http://www.rtaf.mi.th/gallery/fighter/f16/f16-pilot-0003.jpg) with inbuilt rebreather.Weapon of choice is a snub nosed pump action shotgun (shells are located within easy reach attached to his jacket), outdated but more reliable than the standard issue RDA shotgun. Regular British accent (none of that WW2 RAF spiffing nonsense) with short cropped brown hair and a solitary goatee. There is a small RDA combat blade on the inside of his left trouser leg and an RDA standard issue pistol in a holster on his right. His general person is littered with several pouches and tool kits.

(Guess I should do the appearance of his workhorse as it's pretty much synonymous with him)
Operates a slightly modified Aerospatiale SA-2 Samson. As the SecOps arm of the RDA lacks the uniformity and strictness of a conventional army - operatives are entitled to modify their equipment. For Tony this meant the removal of the fixed weaponry that normal Samsons are equipped with and the subsequent addition of heavier armour plating to the craft. Tony had told the higher-ups that this was to enable a more reliable and sturdy deployment of troops into the front lines, but the real reason was much more simple. Without forward facing fixed weaponry Tony is unable to directly fire upon the indigenous population as fire support, limiting needless casualties, he hoped. The craft's surface is pitted with scratches, scrapes and claw marks where various arrows, spears and talons have found their mark on the hull, yet were unable to seriously endager the occupants. His craft's callsign is "Falcon".

Backstory: Back on Earth, Tony had a short career in the military as a transport pilot but soon left to pursue a more meaningful job as an emergency services air ambulance pilot. The economic condition in Britain soon left many aircraft grounded and only the rich could afford the services of healthcare. Knowing that the mining of unobtainium was the only means by which to bring the human race back to economic stability and benefit humanity as a whole, Tony left his planet to become an RDA pilot. Thinking that he would be placed in a more quiet role as a transport pilot, he eagerly anticipated getting his hands on one of the famous Samson's he'd seen on the RDA recruitment vids back home. To his pleasure he found that he would indeed be flying a Samson. But to his dissapointment he found out that he would be flying it in a combat role. Not exactly a pacifist, Tony sees the mining of Pandora as a necessary evil for the good of his species, knowing that what he does helps millions of people back home every day by supplying them with energy, food and better living conditions. Tony prefers not to kill the inhabitants and wishes they would understand the importance of the mining operations, to limit the casualties of the natives, Tony decided to remove the majority of his fixed weaponry in place of heavier armour, thus removing the possibility of being called in to provide fire support and aid in the destruction of the indigenous people.

Gaming type: Third person

Gaming example:

"Get that bird in the air now Lieutenant!"

Tony cursed under his breath as arrows flew from unseen positions in the tree-line. The deadly bolts scraped the surface of the armour plating and bounced over the curved, reinforced screen of the cockpit, leaving small trails of the chemical neurotoxin on the surface.

He heard gunfire from the back of the craft and quickly pushed the throttle lever forward. The craft jolted as the inelegant take off started. Tony heard one of the marine's in the back swear over the intercom as he was knocked to the deck. Tracers whizzed over the treeline from the marine's ruined aim.

"This is Falcon to Flight Command, evac is complete. En route to drop-off point Charlie. How copy? Over"

"This is Flight Command. Clear copy. Be advised, heat array detects multiple bogies inbound to your airspace. Recommend accelerated approach. Over and out."

Tony checked the flight display and confirmed his bearing before tilting the craft's rotary blades sharply.

"Hold on boys, ETA to drop-off 5 minutes. Don't forget to write!"

He flicked the intercom switch off and settled into his seat with a satisfied grin...
