So, do to my recent addiction to Avatar, I was planning on getting the game, and normally I oppose movie games because the plots are so static, but since the movie was so good, I feel the need to own the game. So, lay it on me, how is it? I mean, does it beat the Spider-Man Movie Games, or what?

I think I would love it if it had actual movie characters in it. Its fun to play but you may want to rent it as Eywas said.

I get that, but when I rent games I always feel like I'm in a rush. And try not to play during the week too, only Friday through Sunday so I'd REALLY be rushing! Lol, I sorta set myself up for this.

I know exactly what you mean about rushing. I hate that feeling. Honestly I would just buy it off ebay 2nd hand, play it through and sell it back on ebay again when you get tired of it. This is what I do with most of my games.

Lol, I've never tossed any of my games, that'll be there for good, I just need to find a cheap copy then.

Yeah, that's my point. Just the fact that it's Avatar makes me want it all the more.

Here's my 2 cents. if you don't like to rent, buy the game. Go into it without expectations. hard to do after seeing the movie. The game does not go along the movie lines, but it does have a decent story line. more so on the RDA side unfortunately. I've played through 4-5 times now and i enjoy it. multiplayer is not great to me, but hopefully it'll get better with updates or something. I still recommend getting it though.

I can't really comment as I haven't played it, but games based on movies are generally disappointing. Half the time they don't have anything to do with the characters & if they follow the story line of the film, you know exactly whats going to happen. Every game I've played based on movies has felt closed in, only one path to take with no freedom to stray away from the main story, but maybe that's just me, I love open plan games.

Didn't know there was a multiplayer! That's awesome! Spiderman didn't have a multiplayer! Lol. Now I definitely need to try it out!
Oh, and one more thing, when I rent games I often end up beating them over the weekend, so even if I enjoyed it, I don't feel the need to buy it. I'm just glad I didn't end up renting Borderlands first!

Let me put it to you this way, if you love the movie, *don't* get the game.
I'd go into the specifics but I've already done so on countless other threads.

I do the exact same thing! :P
The game is good except for a few game developing shortcuts the team used like the ray collision detection (terrible for shooting arrows).
Still recommend it! :)
Only on Xbox or PS3 or PC though.

First I read some reviews before playing it (they all were almost the same xD ) and downloaded the Demo of the game. And well, I made a good choice by downloading the demo, because, to be honest, I've played way better games in my life. In the demo version they gave us only RDA side of conflict on a way through the jungle. The technical part of the game - the world, graphics, sounds, etc. - was pretty good. But the mechanics is at least on low level. It's action TPP game and it was made on the vision of Pandora from Cameron's "Project 880", that is: on EVERY step something is trying to kill you. Literally. And that would be one of the pros, but the fight mechanics are just making you bored after few minutes of constant fight - Viperwolfs! dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot. Titanothere! Dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot. Na'Vi WARRIOR TRYING TO RAPE ME WITH A BIG @!#$ MACE!! Dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot (yes, I was shooting Na'Vi, because they are nothing like Na'Vi in film and they TOLD me to shoot them xP ). I felt like in "GunZ: The Duel" mechanics. Besides there are some places, where you are just shooting blindly into the bushes, because Viperwolfs are SHORTER than bushes and almost invisible in them. Yea, great. But it's a JUNGLE, the bushes are EVERYWHERE! The RPG system was quite weak too - well, to be honest, after leveling up you can choose between... no, wait a second. You CAN'T choose anything - you just gain better weapon and armor. And that's all xP
So in my and the MOST of reviewers opinion - this game had a HUGE potencial, but Ubisoft (developers of Avatar: The Game) did it only to earn some money on a hit film's licence. It's like... you can ''feel'' that they didn't gave their Heart while making this game. Don't take me as I don't like this game - it was good, but... there's something missing. I would give it about... 7/10 points. "Games need love, like everything does" and Ubisoft just forgot about it ;)
The conclusion: If you gave me the money, I would buy it. But I don't think I would buy it at today's price by my own. I would wait for it to get cheaper. Or I would rent it.
Well, unless you are obsessed with Pandora (like the most of us here) and/or do not care about money xD
