I'm not sure if someone's already done this, and if it has been, I apologize, but I was wondering who everyone thinks should contribute to the Avatar II soundtrack.
I'd keep James Horner for the instrumental pieces for sure. As for an actual vocal song, I'd say Journey would be a great choice. Just their sound and some of the themes of this movie really tie together well.

Fortunately, we have a composer who is not only experienced in microtonal and ethenic tunings, but has file score expreience,
to boot. To write the Na'vi songs, J.C. should get Wendy Carlos (www.wendycarlos.com (http://www.wendycarlos.com)). If you'd like to know what I'm talking
about, get "Beauty in the Beast" and listen... Amazing!

And music for Avatar 2 trailer should be done by Two Steps from Hell - they rock!

I think it would be interesting to see a montage at the beginning of the film. Focusing on Jake and Neytiri, with images of the Avatars, humans and Na'vi living, thriving, coexisting. All to this song:

It doesn't necessarily fit with AVATAR's soundtrack but the lyrics really complement Jake and Neytiri's wonderful relationship. I think it would be an interesting variation to the instrumental and choral arrangements we're used to. The song could even be presented through the persepctive of someone listening with ear buds. Maybe it's a crazy idea. I just think it would be an interesting segue back into Pandora.
