Let's hear it for this great series that's still going strong after so many years!
Those of you who haven't read it should at least read the first two or three books - you'll hopefully make some interesting connections between things you took from Avatar and things you read in these books. And they have a forest of trees that are interconnected, just like Pandora.
I see that some of you have already read at least one of the books and encourage you to look at this thread for other good reads if you've not already seen it:

I loved the Ender's Game series. I'm a little behind, I read only the Ender series, and haven't gotten much into any of them past Xenocide. We were assigned to read Ender's Game in grade 7 language arts class, and the entire class hated except for me, and I later continued reading the series, though at that time, I think only Ender's Shadow had been released (beyond the original Ender series).
Seeing as that was now 12 years ago, it's probably time to go back and read them all... :P

I really loved the whole Ender series :nsmile: . I read a couple of the off shoots as well, about Bean's side of the story, but haven't read them all yet.

I currently half way through reading Xenocide. The original "Ender's game" was the best book, but the other 2 are pretty good.

They're good for a re-read every other year or so for me (at least the original four). I own ten of the books - I think the only one I'm missing is the "War of Gifts", which a friend loaned to me a year ago.
I never read these as part of an assignment, although I understand that is one of the more popular ways to be introduced to the book and the series. Instead, my Japanese teacher in high school recommended the series to me, and I'm very grateful for the introduction.

To attempt another Avatar parallel, is Bean the equivalent of Norm? A loyal supporting character? Was Bean ever obviously jealous of Ender?
It's been a while since I've read the original series books, and an even longer while since I read the shadow series books - might be time to dust them off.

I might be weird in that I enjoyed the next three books as much as Ender's Game. Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind were all very interesting to me. If you find Xenocide enjoyable, definitely check out Children of the Mind.

Large fan of Ender's Game, I read it way back when I was in middle school. I would have read it more than once. I have read Shadow of the Hegemon and A War of Gifts: An Ender Story.

I enjoyed all four books, too. The last three had a very different feel to them, I thought, but I really liked the whole story.
