my first avatar wall paper

hey guys just finished this wallpaper took me about 3 hrs or so.

this was my 1st ever i did,and i want to give a special shout to naviwalker for all the help and guidance he has given me. PLEASE comment and critique its the only way ill get better.

You have some interesting effects going on here :). My suggestion would be to use some blending options on your wave lines. Maybe setting them to a lower transparency %, and to a blending mode like "Multiply" or "Overlay", play with the different effects. This will make them look more like beams of light interacting with each other. I'd turn them more transparent because right now they're very dominant and pull the eyes towards the sides (the eye tends to naturally fall in the middle). Maybe stretch some of them across the middle, along the bottom or so.

I would also consider making Jake & Neytiri's image a bit bigger. You should choose what you want the focal point to be. I am guessing since its an Avatar wallpaper, emphasizing the characters would be good.

Great work though for your first wp! Keep it up and keep practising for sure :)

That's very unique, and awesome. If I could make a suggestion? Make the center purly colored, like a rainbow nebula with black bordering it (w/ stars of course), than work your way to a faded color that blends in with the pictures to the side and to the skwigly lines.

When I draw, I like to make things as 'seamless' as possible, so don't mind me, my style is different. I've seen alot of pictures with solid lining and bold transitions, they look astonishing!

yeh i agree apollo im still learning the in's and out's of cs4....i will be starting another project prolly today or early this week depending on what i have going on....this next one im really going to take my time on so it will be a bit longer before i post it up,thanks for your input much appericated.

a failed attempt at blending just jake's avatar face,couldnt blend the color tho cuz it was such an off color....but good way to look at it being the hulk
