First, let me state that I'm as much a fan of Avatar as the rest of you. I've seen the movie 3 times and purchased the toys books etc.

I purchased the game because I wanted to see more of the movie and Pandora. Not because I wanted to play the best game I've ever played. In this respect, the game is great.

I'll start out by saying the gameplay is not bad, the controls are easy and intuitive. It does feel a bit like a console port, but that's ok. There were no apparent problems here.

The RDA Environments are a bit stale, with people standing around doing seemingly nothing, but the technology and feel is the same from the movie. You'll see a lot of things you recognize which is neat.

One neat feature for fans, is the pandorapedia articles. Everything in the game you scan will get an entry in your pandorapedia. There is a TON of info here, more than is anywhere else I've found. Short of a full actual pandorapedia, this is the best you're gonna get.

The environments of Pandora are majestic at first, and coming from seeing the movie, you'll expect to die very easily. Once you get used to the controls killing things becomes a lot easier.

The plants and animals you're used to seeing are all there. There are, however, a few points of contention I will point out:

1. The game has no idea about "queueing" or using the head-tails on the animals and it gets this a little wrong. You just jump on them and go.
2. You can get an ikran, but you don't even battle it, it ends up knocking you off a cliff and you get saved by it. This doesn't match with anything from the movie.
3. There's a quest to kill "sick" animals. Animals on Pandora don't get "Sick". not according to the script. The idea that humans would transfer disease to the animals is a bit silly.

Overall, the game is great for fans of avatar. Did you LOVE the movie? PLAY THE GAME. If you do it on easy mode it will be a fun little ride through some of the universe. The environments are well laid-out and you'll enjoy battling the RDA or killing Na'vi depending on the choice you make.

yup i agree with all you have said, nice work. i was disappointed when i couldn't make Tsahalu, especially with the Ikran, but it's still fun. not being able to use my mouse to fly was also a bit tedious, but I got over that. Don't really like the multiplayer, because everyone on RDA uses grenade launchers and they are the most powerful weapon in MP and if ur Na'Vi, it makes it very hard to compete. but all in all, good game. just needs some tweaking.

Aside from the lore issues, and a story that could be written on a cereal box, an okay game.

I couldn't do the RDA campaign though. I got 2 hours in and had to stop or risk tears...

I loved this game, but I finished both campaigns and all mulitplayer challenges. I didn't know anything about the world of AVATAR since I played and finished the game before the film was released in cinemas :nlol: Great game I wanna play it again but my darn friend borrowed it off me and has been playing COD instead!!

Tears of sadness or frustration? I personally hated the game. There was a lot of potential but the poor controls, near non-existent story and just over all poor design almost had me putting this game with the likes of Too Human.

If you loved Avatar and you want to immerse yourself into Pandora's environment then get this game. It has most of the environments you see in the movie and the views are quite spectacular. Just flying around catching all the views made me smile. I just love the game.

I'm already starting my 2nd campaign with the Na'vi so I can explore more and see what's in the game.

I love it. Worth the pennies IMO.

The only problem I had with this game was in the start, it was frustrating because I didnt figure out the controls or what I had to do.

A suggestion to people with this problem: Go to the first area; Blue Lagoon, and just run around there, get used to the controlls, try out weapons.

A very good game.

yea lots of stuff u recognize from the movie (saw it 6 times or so)) )well I finisched 2x the Na'vi camapign and started the RDA one once but didnīt finish it for the reason that I dont like killing any of the Na'vi, so I propably will newer play the RDA side. the stoty could be more deeper, that would make that game even a better one. When u wait till the second point to choose your side (RDA side) u actually talk to Col. Miles " Got grabbed by a thatnator" Quaritch. I so liked to kill him but it didnīt happen :( well lets hope for a sequel with the continuing of the story.

one thing to be noted two is that there actually 3 endings to the game. the 3rd ones the only one that made sense to me though. LOL (human fighting for the Na'vi)

nice review!
