Did anyone have a dream similar to what JC had before AVATAR?

Is it a common dream or is James Cameron's imagination truly out of this world? I consider myself a dreamer but I wouldn't have even come close to James Cameron's vision of Avatar. Anyone have a similar dream of Pandora, the Na'vi, the RDA?

Well, I'm sure I did, but I never remembered any of it, just 'hmm, that was a weird dream'.

the deep impact was Cameron's ability to have synthesized it all into a totally unique interpretation as a script/movie.

I voted "I had something like his vision!". The things I saw were from two seperate dreams I had years apart.

In the first dream I was laying on a grassy hillside staring up at the night sky. It was filled with brilliant stars but also with many multicolored planets that were either in very close proximity or very large in size. So in "Avatar" when I saw that shot of the night sky on Pandora, I experienced deja-vu.

The second dream I was watching a night campfire and saw aliens that were very tall and skinny like the Na'vi but had the facial characteristics of a lemur rather than cat-like features. Their skin was an orangish-red color. They had no hair. They held long spears and wore loincloths. The environment was like the planet Mars but at night. I was spying on them. That's all I remember.

You all might call me a liar, but I swear to you everything I'm about to say I've experienced.

I've had dreams like this (although not quite as fantastic) for years before this movie. I would come into consciousness on a different planet. I would open my eyes and look around. I'm not on Earth. I'm somewhere far away from earth. Everything was different, but yet the same. The plants were different, like nothing I've ever seen on Earth, they were incredible! The landscape is unbelievable! Only things I would dream about, maybe some place on Earth things like this existed, but it was so incredibly breathtaking! No factories, no houses, no roads, all nature! Usually when I'd arrive it would be about sunset, so that made everything seem more beautiful. I would wonder around for a while, then I would meet a tribe or clan and they would invite me to stay with them. They were almost human like, except with slight differences, like the Na'vi, but what the differences were I couldn't recall. I do remember they had tails (I find tails on humans very cool in a weird way, some of you will think I'm very strange after saying that. I find they are a great way by expressing emotions and addition to body language and to wrap around your special someone :D) and they were normal human height. The rest of them I cannot remember, maybe I didn't even know, but I knew they were different from a human, but had the human figure, and found them very intriguing. The people would take me back with them to their "village" and there I would be greeted by a lot of friendly other people/aliens that lived there. We would eat dinner around a fire and they would tell me their lifestyle and ask about mine. That night they introduced me to a girl about my age and she would show me around while I was there and explain everything to me. She was very beautiful, and she seemed excited about the idea of her showing me, an alien to them, around. It was absolute paradise there, the way everyone treated each other, the way they lived, was all a dream of mine. Everyone did their part in the tribe, and didn't ask for anything in return. Everyone was friendly to everyone else, no issues, no drama. The girl who was asked to show me around was very interested in me and my life. She would always talk to me, always ask me questions, always want to be with me. I was very attracted to her, and I felt she felt the same way about me. All the time I would be excited to be with her. We would confess our love for each other, and she loved me back. She loved me as much as I loved her (by the way I'm 19, single and never had a girlfriend by the way haha) so just the emotions she made me feel, the feelings were amazing, something I never felt before. My life there was paradise, something I've always wanted, but about my Freshmen year of high school I stopped having these dreams. But then I saw this movie in theaters, and I was blown away, I felt emotions that were unexplainable, I felt as if this movie was made for me! It was like in my dreams, not exactly like my dreams (obviously haha) but man it was close! Thats why I felt so connected to this movie! Thats why it's my favorite movie of all time! I could go on and on but I feel as if I'm boring everyone so haha yea I'd have to cast the vote either "yea he read my mind! lol" or "I had something like his vision!"

I knew i was on to something in side... then Avatar came and opened it up and showed me how it could be. Now i must live to prove myself worthy of that dream

i havnt had a dream like that,but i did have a dream where the world will change(i highly doubt it ever will) about people respecting one another,and people not judging each other by the way they look,dress,or what they believe in but rather whats on the inside,one of my favorite quotes has to be "never judge a book by the cover,but rather the text thats in the book"

I had something simillar (without blue people and stuff) and I planned to write a book about it when I grow a bit older. Might still do it

LSD? no but really part of the appeal behind Avatar is that is is very similar to many peoples dreams of other planets.
