Sideshow Collectibles, Inc. - AVATAR / AMP Suit Maquette (http://www.sideshowtoy.com/?page_id=4489&sku=300032&utm_source=search0109)
The A.M.P. Suit Maquette looks seriously awesome, and I mean awesome (check it out using the link above), but it's simply far too expensive for a collectible of an entertainment franchise coming in at 1199.99 USD, don't get me wrong though if I had the money I would buy it without thinking twice, who knows maybe I still will when I sort out my employment issues, LOL.

Very true but I haven't used it or heard anyone use it for a very long time, LOL, I was just surprised to see it used here.

Sideshow makes great stuff, I have the Recon at way point, and Firefly sets from them. Pricey for sure but you get a top quality product. I'm waiting for them to release the Baroness next.

Hmm, I expect their products to be of the highest quality around for the prices they're selling them.

Oh crap very expensive! I didn't even imagine that the collectables would be that high! Bummer. I really would like to collect them but that one looks fantastic. Great job done on it

Well the Joe stuff is a much more reasonable $200 or less per item :)
Sort of like WETA's limited signature edition stuff, you're paying for the limited product run.

I knew collectible products could be that expensive but I didn't expect Avatar to get one so expensive so soon as these sort of collectibles take years after the release of the movie to become available, I have to say that I'm quite surprised.

Very true, I noticed that the maquette was limited to only 500, that number would certainly make them rare and a highly sought-after Avatar collectible.

It has been up for preorder for a while now, and has not sold out yet. I hope that shows them that they should lower prices abit.

I also noticed that and I don't think it's not selling out because it's too expensive, I think it's not selling out because it seems a lot of people don't know about it, I've known about it for a while now and thought everyone here did but it seems they didn't.

Yeah, that could be true. And with the $5,000 R2, sideshow talked about that for what seemed like years. But with a edition size of only 500, and other sites selling it, I would have been sure that it would sellout.

That's very true, I guess it simply is too expensive, only time will tell though as there's still about five months left until its release.

I won tons of Sideshow products and this one won't come down in place. Most e-stores have pre-sold out of it already. Sideshow always keeps some to sell direct when they come in stock. They may take a while to sell at $1300 a pop (they can be found for about $1100 at e-stores where I pre-ordered mine), but I don't think the price will come down. They sell a lot of items in that price range and most do sell out.
