Very true...also people are scared easily. The easiest way (look at any political election) is for someone to instill fear in a society to achieve what they want. However, if the Russian Communist party (not the governing body) is scared by Avatar, then I believe that is good for both freedom and for the Na'vi culture as well!

Even though this user has been banned I must comment on it: Criticism is not bad. In fact JC has even said he wants criticism of his film because it shows him what he needs to do to improve his vision.

However, blind hatred for something that is different for you, so no we do not hate critics, but we dislike those who are scared of what the film means - that we have alot of work to do to save this planet!

It's not talking about the "communist" leaders of Russia, but a party (much like the American Communist Party) in the country that is decrying the movie. But also for the record, much of what the government of Russia runs like is like it's former communist self. There are still many human rights violations, environmental attacks, etc. Russia will possibly become communist again sometime in the future, but it will be a disaster as it was in the past.
