I know I'm making animated sigs but would it be prudent to make sigs just JPEG's say 90px high X 450px wide (fixed images) and allow animated Avatars instead, say 100px X 100px and 500kb in size, They would have a smaller impact on page load times.
As you can imagine the sigs take up more bandwidth and more time to load the pages, I have a good connection so it makes no difference to me, but others might not be so lucky, it also makes it harder to identify the breaks in the posts when there are larger/multiple images. I believe that regular post breaks using standardized sigs would create a more aestectically looking forum which is possibly more easy to navigate by members.
