Hello people.
I was just curious to find out what all Avatars love the most in the movie.
Is it the beautiful landscapes of Pandora? Do you watch Avatar to revisit Pandora?
Do you love the characters displayed?
Is it the culture and way of the Na'vi who love to share and embrace themselves with nature?
Is it Neytiri? (Prowler) :friendly_wink:
Is it the plots and sub-plots displayed in the film?
Do you watch it because it's different to the society we live in today?
Feel free to add more guys, i'm just curious :an-smile:

One thing that, in my opinion, gets overlooked easily, is how very pulling AVATAR is from the get go.
Now, this is something that a lot of people donīt give much thought - because it sems so simple. Yet, that is the hardest part - making it seem so simple.
I love how fast JC sucks us into the story. How he starts by first, triggering our curiosity, awakening our excitement, only to get us anticipating Jakes first steps as avatar. The transition from one to the other is so smooth that we donīt even realize how deep we already are in this new scenario.
So yhea...........I guess what I wanted to say is, that I really enjoy the emotional ride attached to this.
The plot is never really what I am looking for in a movie. Donīt get me wrong, I watch all kinds of movies, funny ones, actions, romances, intellectual movies, independent ones - but a great puzzle is hardly what I look for in a movie. No, to me, there is something much more desirable.
Itīs the heart. A certain warmth, a core. The ability to get me immersed into this world while it lasts.
And when a movie manages that, when it gets me so immersed that I forget my body for a couple of hours, that is when a movie is great in my opinion. Besides, when you truly are so much into something, you hardly even try to follow the plot all that much (if it is halfway passable, that is!).
I am not some blind follower. This movie had faults, great faults even, plotholes that were the size of Camerons ego, dialogues that were cliche, but in the end, what AVATAR really had from the get go - was that ability to pull you in, to let you be a part of something bigger for a good couple of hours. And when I came out from it, I did not remember any of the faults, but instead I remebered the first steps Jake did with his new body, the first time Neytiri called him a baby, the lessons, the flight and every other emotion that followed.
Thatīs what worked so damn well in AVATAR - the emotions. They were humble, and true, basic and very simple - REAL.
I cannot wait for next two (and hopefully even more!!!) parts to come out already.

Jim Cameron created the "Perfect Storm" with Avatar. All the elements of the movie complimented each other. Neytiri is all the more beautiful because Pandora surrounds her, and she is all the more lovable because Jake is so damn likable. I could go on and on but I think my point has been made =)

I love this movie so much because of the emotions portrayed by the Omaticaya tribe, towards their home, their environment, each other and every living and breathing thing on Pandora. What could almost be worshipped in my opinion is the level of respect they have. I loved the fact that Neytiri blamed Jake in the beginning for getting attacked. He made the mistakes, because he didn't know how to adapt to this environment and behaved like it was the animals owing him an apology. Like she said, they didn't need to die, because of his stupidity.
And I love the fact that they have figured out how to live WITH their environment. How they're in a constant state of taking and giving back, but never exploiting.
And of course...the relationship between Jake and Ney :) Who wouldn't fall for that...:)
just everything. the world of pandora, the characters (especially Jake, Neytiri and Grace) and the story. the story has been done many times but i think this is the best it's been done :nsmile:

At first I wasn't sure why..and it bothred me for a while because I was addicted to this movie but I didn't know what 'it' was. When I first watched it I wasn't really interested in what was going on until this one scene...and it might seem strange but it was the scene where jake's about to wheel past this huge vehicle but stops so he doesn't get ran over and they show these blue and aqua feathered arrows in it's tire. From then on out it was hook, line and sinker for me. Then I also realised I felt like I could escape my real life and be some place else..my life isn't horrible or anything but it's definitely not Pandora, I do romanticize Pandora a little I mean now that I think about it..I really wouldn't want to live their not as a person anyways..but as a Na'vi I'd love it! I just love how beautiful everything is..the connection they have to their moon is amazing it's something you don't see here very often and when you do, it's thought of as 'strange' 'weird' 'abnormal'. I But there it's normal..infact if you don't respect nature it's like "Dude..wtf?" lol But anyways I'm in love with every aspect of the movie (except the RDA..I hate the RDA.) The people are beautiful! The two most striking Na'vi to me are Neytiri and Tsu'tey (If you can't tell I'm in love with this guy by the way) Neytiri is just so....so lean and pretty and her ears and jees I could just go on forever! The same with Tsu'tey, he has a very striking face to me or..something. Something about his eyes and how he carries himself. He also has a gorgeous smile...well I could go on forever but I'll stop here.

I'll go with my top three reasons.
1. Neytiri
2. Bioluminescence
3. The culture and lifestyle
They're all pretty self explanatory and they're all the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life.

Where does one begin? :P
- The story of standing up for what is right, and leaving behind your old life to start somethign new and unexplored.
-There is the beautiful moon of Pandora with all of it's untouched wilderness and wildlife.
-Neytiri, who will no doubt be my favourite female character from just about anythign forever. She's fierce and brave yet loving, kind, playful, loyal, vulnerable and spiritual. Who would not want a women like her.
- Perhaps ones of the best things about AVATAR is the small close knit tribal society where everybody knows everybody else. There is no murder, rape, theft or hate, no materialistic consumer culture. It's the kind of society we'd all like to live in. They live very close to nature and are prepared to 'go up against gunships with bows and arrows'. Perhaps the most inspiring and most awesome thing about the Na'vi is that they are courageous individuals who have somethign sacred and are prepared to fight to the death for it. That's something much of today's society has lost.

Everyone's said it all already, what more can I add? A pristine, natural world to thrive in free and uninhibited, a beautiful, powerful, yet sensual soulmate, a true connection to the divine. It's as if James Cameron created a mirror into the collective soul of humanity. These are the things we hold dear (or at least try, to the best of our abilities), even if all we can do is dream.

the theme for me. the clash of worlds and misunderstanding of each other's culture. it shows the darkside of human nature well. its a good example of how conflicts form and you see it in the real world in the exact way. food for thought!

It shows the darkside of human nature well.
Besides Toruk Makto, Max, Grace, Trudy, and Norm, and some soldiers that just Fought following orders against their true Ideals, I think we didn't see Any of the Lightside of human nature :/

Yes, it is a wonderful moral quandary with no right answer . This is one of the main things I like about the movie.
The other this is a wonder example of world building, both in terms of creature design but also in the depth of Na'vi culture. That and it looks fantastic
