Today marks 100 years since Titanic began her only voyage on April 10, 1912. This was her leaving Southampton dock in England.

She ended up here on the ocean floor a few days later. http://static.guim.co.uk/sys-images/Guardian/Pix/pictures/2012/3/22/1332433097255/The-first-complete-views--019.jpg http://titanic-model.com/dc/user_files/12618.jpg

Well Jak, this disaster will never fade from the public spotlight. Proof is seen now with the 100th anniversary and how many people still want to know about Titanic.

Yeah, very tragic what happened that night.
It's thanks to the many films and documentaries that Titanic will never be forgotten. Even after she completely rusts away on the see floor.
Don't know if any of you saw this on Nat Geo but this is what James Cameron and a group of experts concluded how she sank.

I saw that documentary.
April 15 has a new documentary on the History Channel.
This is really more accurate to how titanic broke in two Jak. Look Breakup (http://web.archive.org/web/20100823022156/http://home.flash.net/~rfm/BREAKUP/Breakup.html) This link also has plenty of information on the wreck and why it looks the way it does now. http://web.archive.org/web/20100822155028/http://home.flash.net/~rfm/index/contents.html

James Cameron in the above interview state he is not in favor of selling the artifacts at all. They should be in a museum.

Nice! Thanks for that MarkD! Very interesting.
I agree with Cameron selling objects from the wreck site to be owned by anybody is wrong. These artifacts should be left on the sea floor or put into a museum.
I also think that it would be alright for family members to own objects from relatives who where aboard Titanic at the time of the sinking. They should have first rights to anything discovered of personal value.

well, today is April 14th...100 years to the day of the tragedy. shall we have a moment of silence and reflection? *lost in thought*

You'd have to be silent for 2 and a half hours. Titanic sinking began at 11:40pm at night, and was gone by 2:20 the next morning.
New documentary on Hitler's Titanic film and tomorrow is Titanic 100: Mystery Solved, both on the History Channel.
Look at Artist Ken Marschall. His art is very famous for his paintings of Titanic as she was then and the wreck we see now. The Art of Ken Marschall - Welcome (http://www.kenmarschall.com/)

Kudos to Ken Marschall for making them. :) His art inspired my own Titanic sketches, but Ken is the master of it.

I am currently drawing the Titanic. I was hoping to finish it today but don't think I will.

The real Titanic is better than a romance movie set on the ship.
