Hi there, relatively new member but have been reading every thread I can find on here for the past couple days (going to work notwithstanding). I used to belong to a car forum for my specific model car and we had regional forums with local threads to help us organize and go to car shows/races/etc.
I thought this would be a cool idea for us to see the movie for the umpteenth time with a group of like-minded people since some of our friends aren't quite as impacted as we are. I'll still be dragging my friends to see it. Added benefits include when the Blu-ray is released having a party for that, home 3D viewings for the lucky souls that go to the trouble to get that equipment. Even something as simple as having a BBQ for no reason (someone's b-day!), talking about the movie, it's just another way to make friends.
Oh and I live in Las Vegas, so having an Avatarcon is not out of the question.
Drawbacks being stalkers, usual crazies, and IRL trolls/flamers, but that's why we strap knives to our chests. I've actually never had a problem with anyone I've met through forums for a social event like this.
