Suppose there is a group of people. Now suppose they are doing something you consider wrong, and are against. Now suppose they have nothing to offer you, nothing you want. Now suppose they aren't even friend;y towards you. Not that they are necessarily aggressive, just not friendly towards you.
Would you help them?
To me it doesn't make sense that one should help that group of people.

I'd walk away, and if they say something to me, a bit of ****-talking first, then a fight is guaranteed. Last time I lost, I 'lose' against the group because I'm always alone against them -.- bitches can't do it one on one so they team up... Anyhow, I agree Theorist lol

i'm inclined to agree with you,Theorist, but did you have a particular group of people in mind? jw

If any group is involved in anything that doesn't have everyone's best interests in mind I'd have nothing to do with it.

I'm actually the kind of person who feels better by helping others whenever I can. Now, whether I decide to help some group of people in particular depends on two things: a) What they need help with (if I can help them with it, or is not even possible for me to do it and if it is not something that's wrong); b) If they accept my help.

Well, the particular group I had in mind was society. I share different goals than society, and ultimately there's nothing here I desire, or really even want that much. I'm also not very happy with what it does. And, even though we might have sort of similar fundamentals of what our goal is (perhaps not though) we have wildly different views about how to achieve those goals. Most people wouldn't want my idea at all, so I'm not going to push it on them. So I am faced with the question why help?
it doesn't want my opinion. it doesn't even like my opinion. it just wants me to do as it asks. But it isn't really friendly, and it goes against what I stand for. Thus I end up faced with the question "Why help?" I can't draw much a reason as to why I should.

assuming you are talking about the na'vi they where friendly to the skypeople but I can understand that they are getting angry when destroying your homeplace and shooting people.
if you aren't talking about them. I think I would first try to talk. after that trying to ignore them. BUT IN NO WAY HARM THEM. because it stays their home :)

interesting.......and once again, the common denominator here is money, and the continuing decade of my discontent. everything boils down to the almighty scraps of paper. :/
