Kalenon "Kal" Heeps sat on his horse-drawn carriage looking towards the heavens playing with the pendant on his necklace. The pendant was a coin that bore the image of his patron god, Foralt, god of trade and a good deal. Although the god had no priests, buying and selling was considered paying homage to him.
As Kal's carriage slowly drew along the lonely old road in the lands of Gerenmir. The land contained large grassy fields which cattle were grazed on and sheperds tended there flocks on. He wondered if he could talk a farmer into trading him a chicken for a few coins...
Kal's thoughts drifted here and there as his old horse carried him and his cart containing all his goods to trade to the nearest settlement. Spices such as pepper, cloves, cinnammon and ginger. This would fetch a hefty sum considering this wasn't a farming tregion, just ranching. Then when coming over the rise of a hill, Kal saw the quaint little town.
"Old Rookstead!" Kal said Triumphantly as his goal came into view. "I'll hit the pub first and see if there are any farmers or butchers I can chat up into giving me a good deal." Kal said rambling his plan to himself as the town drew closer and closer.

A chill rolled up Saru's spine as he ascended upon a cliff overlooking beautiful grassy farmland with a small town in the middle with smoke rising up from the buildings below as a sign of life. Saru pulled his cloak closer towards his body as a gus of wind blew across his fur like a wave crashing against the shore, Saru did not mind the mountain chill for it is a familiar feeling for him after the long years he has spend in Lungard ever since he began his rite of passage. surveying the area Saru notice that the shortest way to Alomar is to go through the town, for this town is surrounded by mountain country and that it will take too much time to venture around.
"perfect" he said sarcastically as he dreaded the thought of passing through another town where he might get a not so friendly welcome. for he knows that humans don't take too kindly to his race.
Saru pulled up his shoulder bag as it was slipping and began to venture down towards the town.
The smell of cattle dung and bad hygiene filled his Nostrils as he walked across the muddled street towards the tavern, longing for a warm bed and some good food. as he walked he could feel the curious stares of bystanders, Saru did not want to entertain their curiosity so he kept his head down. Until he caught a glimpse of a human Merchant unloading his cart of goods with a cheery smile as if he began a new adventure. Saru did not give him much thought instead he pulled down his hood further to conceal his face within the shadow it was casting, and tucked his lower arms deeper within his cloak as he enter the tavern.

(Okey doke pal.)
Kal smiled as he walked through the tavern doors. The smell of tobacco and stale sweat assaulted his nose. Kal wasn't a smoker, but he enjoyed a puff on his pipe here and there. He broke out his pipe and filled it with tobacco and struck a match to it.
Kal puffed slowly on it so that it was smouldering. He slid towards the bar and looked at the dwarf bartender. "What'll ya have man?" The Dwarf asked gruffly as he polished a tankard. "I will have a scotch my kind sir!" Kal said jollily as the Dwarf gave hima dismissive look.
Kal looked looked throughout the bar spying for any potential buyers. He saw numerous mercenaries using expressive body language to describe their latest kill, a troll. He saw a few traders like himself and then a tall four-armed thing. "I wonder if it likes spices..." Kal said to himself as the bartender poured him his scotch. He grabbed it dismissively and walked toward the tall cat person.
"Greetings fair traveller!" Kal said as he sat down next to the shrouded cat thing. "You look like someone who could use some spices." He said with the most suave voice he could muster.

Although Saru sat at the darkest corner of the bar, trying to stay away from the mercenaries and the traders hoping to be left unnoticed but yet this spice trader who walks towards Saru and takes a seat right next to him is the only one who took notice of Saru. "why come to me? when there's a whole room of potential buyers where he can relieve them of their gold" Saru thought. obviously Saru didn't hide his racial characteristics as well as he hope he did otherwise this man wouldn't have take notice, but apparently this man has a cunning eye you properly need to be in the career he is in, he properly notices things that others do not. which makes Saru wonder if this man already knows what he is then why isn't he trying to insult or to spit in his face, that is if he can reach it. No matter Saru knows his type, they hide behind a fake smile and over confident words so long as they get the gold in the end. this man didn't want to sell spices to Saru he came out of curiosity.
Without turning to face the man Saru said "not interested..." then he raise his mug filled with cold water with his upper right hand and took a slip of it all the while he tucked his lower arms even more behind his cloak trying to make sure no one notices. but something tells Saru that this man is'nt going to give up so soon.

"Well obiviously everybody needs spi-" Kal began to sauy before the creature cut him off by declining his trad proposal. "Well, if you are going to be rude about it. I might as well leave you to sulk in your..." Kal looked at the mug the creature held and saw it was just water. "WATER?!?!?" He said in surprise.
Kal looked at the cat-man and grinned. "You sir, need a drink! Not just any, you need Gorinth!" Kal shouted without waiting for a reply from the complete stranger. He shouted across the din of the tavern for a tankard of Gorinth from the Dwarf Bartender. Seconds later a barmaid strode over with the tankard and put it in front of the strange man.
Kal paid the lady and stared expectantly at the man. "Oh, by the way. My name is Kal Heeps, of Heeps and Goods! It's a pleasure to meet you... Uh, I never caught your name sir." Kal said as he took of his scotch and smiled warmly at the cat-man.

"i appreciate your friendly company but that will end if you try to hustle me into buying your wares." Saru added, but he did really appreciate the chance to talk to someone that isn't trying to run him out of the town, not to mention its some-what lonely when your on the road.

Kal looked across the bar and saw some of the mercenaries playing a card game. They were obviously getting angry with the rich merchant they were playing with was winning their bets.

Kal smiled and said "I'm not a history scholar, sorry Saru." He took a swig of his scotch and finished it as the mercenaries drew their weapons and began to rush towards the merchant and his body guards intending to butcher them for cheating.
Kal stood up as did Saru as the mercenary drew back his cudgel and brought it swinging down on a bodyguards skull, spattering gore across the bar. The Dwarf roared in rage and grabbed a crossbow from underneath the bar and aimed it at the man that killed the bodyguard.
Kal grunted in pain as a skull fragment dug its self in his arm. Not wanting to get involved he flipped the table and watched from behind it. The Dwarf pulled the trigger and laughed as the bolt passed through him and hit another mercenary in the arm busy hacking apart the merchant with another of his fellows.
Kal looked up at Saru and screamed "Get down you fool! That dwarf is mad with that repeating crossbow!" Everyone else in the bar screamed or ran. Kal looked at his arm and saw the skull fragment was buried in his arm and he was bleeding quite a bit. "Dammit " was all he said as the mercenaries looked towards the dwarf and rushed him.

Thorimir was a violent and short tempered mercenary. He was strolling through town looking for a task that required someone of his strength when he had decided to stop by the pub. When he stormed in, he saw some sort of odd looking four armed beast sitting at the bar stools. He thought about scolding the outcast, but he was short on time. In the north corner of the bar Thorimir spotted a group of what looked like fellow mercenaries and rich nobleman playing a game of four-down (a gambling related card game that consisted of each player drawing 4 cards, and the player with the best noticeable pattern of any sort won). Thormir quickly came to a conclusion that this would be his form of income today.
The husky mercenary noisily pulled up a chair and sat at the table with a look of pride on his face. He demanded that he was now involved in the game. The card dealer gave into his command, not wanting to deal with such a large obnoxious man, slid 4 cards to him from across the table.
Thorimir, very confident with his set of cards, decided to bet his entire 30 gold that he was carrying with him. He might have been strong, but he was not a smart man.
He then slammed his cards down and shouted "Three crams and a gent!" which was an extremely good hand. But it did not beat all.
The rich tradesman across from him calmly laid his hand down, spread the cards out for all to see, and quietly said "Four full gents". This beat Thorimir's hand by a long shot.
Thorimir immediately became infuriated at the sudden loss of his 30 gold.
"THIEF!" he exclaimed "CHEATER! I'LL HAVE YOUR HEAD"
he rushed at the wealthy man with his fists drawn, but the merchant's bodyguard halted him and bashed him backwards with his shield, knocking Thorimir across the table and onto the stone floor. The other mercenaries were now getting angry at what they took as an insult to their kind from the bodyguard. The small bar fight had then turned into a full brawl within an instant. Thorimir quickly grasped his cudgel, wielded it, and knew that it must taste blood.
He swung it at the guard's head, smashing his skull into pieces and sending blood gushing across the tables. He let a cry of victory purge his lungs and echo throughout the bar.
But just then as he looked to his right, the dwarf bartender was aiming some sort of beastly-looking crossbow right toward him. Thorimir froze, as if petrified by the sight of it.
Skwoosh! The crossbow bolt pierced his skull and nailed it to the wall of the pub. That was the end of Thorimir.

Drake walked through the small town, giving a smile whenever he caught someone's gaze, greeting people who walked by him, and just giving out a friendly atmostphere overall. He walked with a straight posture, each step radiating confidence. A group of women stood near the entrance of a pub and were sneaking looks at him and whispering words. When he came to the door, he placed his hand over his chest and gave a slight bow.
"Ladies, you all are looking as beautiful as a flower in bloom. I would be able to get a drink or two here, would I not?"
They looked surprised or embarrassed, having been caught off guard with such a compliment. Two of them were blushing heavily, while the last one had a color that could make a strawberry sick. "Why, yes sir, you could," one managed to say.
"Thank you, ma'dam."
He gave another curteous bow and pushed through the door into the pub only to see an arrow impale a man's head and stick'em to the wall like a poster. Instincts taking over, he put his back against the wall and a table between him and everyone else and observed what was happening. There was someone else lying dead on the floor with half his skull smashed open. There were several mercenaries pummeling a merchant while a dwarf behind the bar was loading another arrow with a repeating crossbow.
"Ahh, that's a nasty weapon," he said to himself aloud. "Compensating for the lack of his size, I see."
He watched as the mercenaries start to rush the barkeep as he was vulnerable. "Dammit." he heard. He looked over and saw another man, possibly a merchant from his build and clothes, hiding behind an overturned table with a monster of a fella. Said man was bleeding from somewhere if the puddle of blood on the floor was any indicator.
"Looks like I'll have to put a stop to this mess. An unfitting job for one of my position."
He pushed through several people who were rushing to get out or risk injury. He arrived just as the remaining mercenaries were dragging the irate dwarf over the bar. He approached one of them from behind and kindly tapped on his shoulder. The man turned around with his fist cocked back, ready to wail on whoever was trying to interrupt him. He hesitated when he saw a well dress man, a nobleman from the looks of it, holding his hands up in mock-surrender. The interaction briefly caught the attention of his buddies.
"Now sir, I believe this has gone on long enough, and I just arrived here."
The mercenary ignored him and went to join his friends who were now stomping on the dwarf. Drake sighed and tapped the man on the shoulder again. Said man was annoyed now and decided this nobleman was becoming a bigger nuisance than the dwarf was. He turned around only to see the tip of a sword inches from his face. The stomping from the men stopped as they eyed this new player. Gone was Drake's confident smile and was replaced with a frown.
"That wasn't a question, good sir. I suggest you leave now."

" of course, something had to go wrong..." he whispered under his breath as he stood still not fearing flying crossbow bolts nor blood as he witness the situation unfold before him. Saru looked down towards Kal, seeing him taking cover tightly behind a table close to Saru's feet while clinching his right arm in the hopes that no more blood slips out from the wound created by a skull fragment from the now late-bodyguard of the now beaten merchant.Saru's focus shifted back to the situation at hand, seeing the dwarf helplessly laid out on the bar surround by five brute-ish mercs that look like they haven't had a bath in months, their face covered in a mixture of dirt and dry up blood as a sign of their victories or bad hygiene. they simile and laugh sinisterly with their yellowed black-ish teeth as their attention turns towards a Noble-looking gentlemen with his weapon drawn and aimed at the throat of one of the mercs. To Saru he seem like a capable fighter with a lot of combat experiences but even then the odds were 5 to 1.
" even if he is a capable fighter, he can not do this alone" Saru said to himself and at that moment he decided to intervene.
In one fluid motion,he relinquish his cloak and hood revealing his lower arms and other features, making it apparent that he was a Sovani. then he withdrew his two short-swords from their sheaths on his waist with his lower arms at the same time he withdrew his two long-swords from their sheaths hanging off his back with his upper arms. Saru charged towards the group of mercenaries with full force, he could see the fear and surprise in their eyes as he drew closer. With both of his long swords he impaled the first merc piecing right through his body while lifting him into the air, Saru could see his life fade away as the merc was choking on his own blood. Then he quickly dispose of the body by throwing it off of his blades, it landed on a nearby table which broke from the impact of his body. Afterward Saru quickly dispose two other mercs by silting their throats with his short-swords before they were able to get their weapons drawn, leaving only two mercs left, one with his weapon drawn and ready to defend himself and the other still having a blade stuck to his throat by the noblemen.

"Oh god..." Kal said as Saru killed the mercenaries. He was not getting involved in this fight, no way! He thought to himself as he looked at his wound. It still seeped blood and the thing lodged in there was deep.
He eyed the nobleman who looked like a toughened fighter, even for his apparent status. Kal sighed as the body hit the table and broke it.
"All I wanted to do was sell my wares, but no. This has to happen! I should've gone to that other tavern down the road..." He said as the fighting in the bar stopped almost immediately except for the two savage mercs.

To say Drake was surprised would have been an understatement. First, he's holding a merc at the tip of his sword and the next thing he knows, a large Sovani tears apart three of the other mercenaries in the blink of an eye.
'Explains why he was so large. Looks like this has to get dirty.'
He turned his attention back to his man and saw fear in his face. The two made eye contact and the merc was shaking slightly. Drake knew what this meant and try to stop him.
"Don't think about it-" the man, though at a disadvantage, went to draw his sword, but all it took was a straightening of his arm and his sword's point was through the merc's throat and out.
He let the man fall to the floor and faced the last man. He nervously looked between the Sovani and Drake and figured he'd have a better chance with the human. The man charged at him, letting out a battle cry. Drake raised an eyebrow at the decision.
"Poor choice, good fellow."
Drake's other hand subtly went to the dagger handle in his belt behind his back. He skillfully parried the man's strike and moved the swords away, while at the same time bringing the dagger in his other hand around. He gave an unamused sigh when he felt the blade cut through flesh and a gurgling sound came from the man's mouth, as well as blood. His dagger had pierced right through the carotid artery, so when he withdrew his blade, a fountain of blood squirted out from the wound.
The merc looked like he tried to say something but death overtook him and he collapsed on the floor.
"Such a pity...The fool could've just surrendered and lived on, but he acted out of fear." He turned his head towards the large Sovani who had intervened. "Many thanks for your help, sir. I might say, you sure make an entrance."

The Dwarf brought back Kal's whiskey and smiled "Like I said, on the house! Now let me fetch my wife." Kal said nothing and drank. He poured a little on the open cut which still bled and grimaced in pain.
Finally, the stout Dwarf and his maiden walked into the bar area. "What is this mess?!?! Bodies, broken tables, spilt ale and worst of all hurt customers!" The Dwarven woman shouted as she looked at the two warriors who were unharmed and the merchant who was the only one hurt. "Ugh, let me get my silk and needles..." She said walking out of the bar into the bedroom.
Kal took a shot of whiskey and nodded his head towards the Dwarf, who had a pair of pliers to tear out the piece of skull lodged in his flesh. "Do it." He said in a resigned manner knowing the pain that would come soon. She told Drake and Saru to hold my arms and her husband my feet. She delved in and began to grip on the fragment.
Kal screamed in pain as she tore the large skull bit from his arm. "Now, let's disinfect it." The Dwarf lady said as she took a bottle of scotch and poured it on the cut. The pain was unbearable and Kal passed out.

The Dwarven bartender grabbed a couple of iron mugs for these strange travelers and then walked toward a very large barrel filled with dwarven mead behind the bar, it was a bit higher than the bartender so he required a small stool to get at the leaver. with short pull he filled up the mugs with this orange-ish liquid with form rising to the top, then he climbed down from the stool and slammed the drinks in front of the travelers.
"aye...the inn gets all sorts of interesting characters, we get mercenaries, merchants and of course the regular drunken folks, but you..." the dwarf paused pointing his finger at Saru and then continue " I haven't seen your kind in a long while ...in fact i haven't seen your kind since i was a wee little boy"

"Well, I've heard quite a number of them in my travels. I've got one or two I don't mind sharing," Drake announced. Might as well pass the time.
"I was passing through a town about two weeks walk from here and heard that there were several adventurers who got themselves killed by a cave troll whilst following some rumor of treasure. Poor bastards would risk life and limb for a petty thing. Personally, I would've done more for the sake of adventure than gold or silver.
And that's just what I did. I joined a volunteer group to go see what had become of them, this was of course, before we discovered their ill fate. Myself and twenty men, many young, some more mature, trekked a day's journey to a cave by a river.
When we entered, to say that the young men were scared would do no justice. Their garments were wet with piss when they heard the first roar of the troll. When we finally did discover the remains of the adventurers, the young men all but ran back home, including a few of the men. But me and four others remained and made our way deeper into the black abyss that housed death incarnate.
After several minutes, we came upon the beast whilst it was sleeping. One of the younger men made the mistake of being the one to wake it up and was greeted with a large fist to his face. We readied our swords and axes and spears and surrounded it, taking advantage of openings whenever we saw chance. One fella managed to cut the tendon behind its knees with his axe which brought it down to head level. Another blow only angered it and another man paid the price with his life.
I saw my opening while its attention was diverted and thrust through its eye with my sword. That would have probably killed it, but the only remaining man with me landed a deadly wound on its throat with his neck, and that was the end of the troll. We removed its head, wrapped it up, and the village stuck it on a pole. They offered us reward and drinks, but I just settled for a room free of charge and a hearty meal.
Most excitement I'd had in months," he finished, relaxing back against the bar. To anyone, he would have looked smug and boisterous, but to any experience person of 'life' and both its adventures, they could his eyes betrayed him by becoming the proverbial window into which one could see every emotion he had felt as he told each part.
(OOC: I hope that's good. This story has trolls in it, right? If not, than Saru and the dwarf and just look at Drake like he's crazy. :D )

Kal bolted up at the dead silence after Drake told his story of killing the troll. "What? What'd I miss?" He asked looking at his arm which was neatly stitched up and smelt of Whiskey. He was laying on the ground of the tavern which smelt of piss, sweat and alcohol. It wasn't exactly sanitary for a man with a wound. He quickly stood up and walked towards the bar where the Dwarf, Saru and the Drake character sat.
Kal grabbed a bar stool and smiled. "So what are my compatriots speaking about in this little circle? Tales of battle and rescuing damsels?" He said mimicking a sword slash and block like a child would. The Dwarf just nodded and went about sweeping the floor of glass and his wife mopping it up of blood and bits. "Well, it's an honest shame that I'm not an adventurer. For my tales would be twice as great as yours!" He shouted and laughed.
The three talked till night about their travels and where they've been and who've they met. As the moon rose high overhead, Kal asked the question that would start it all... "Have either of you ever heard of the Domain of Aviati, God of Madness and Pain?" Kal asked innocently as the two stared at him.

Kal smiled and thought for a moment, recalling the tales he had heard as a boy from his father about the Mad God toying with mortals into going into the Dominium. "Well, I'm glad you recall the stories Drake. But, do you Saru?" Kal remarked at his new friend who looked puzzled at the mention of Aviati.

" yes, I heard of Aviati but he is not a mere story you tell your children at night, he is real and his domain resides--" Suddenly Saru was rudely interrupted by the Dwarven bartender who made way back to the group of adventures. he has obviously been eavesdropping on their conversation.
"Aye, the Big cat is right, he is no mere tale, in fact..." the Dwarf said in his Scottish accent while gesturing the group to move in closer.
"I heard rumors" he said
Saru moved in closer to the dwarf, his ears perked up and instinctively move in the direction of where the voice was coming from.
"What sort of rumors?..." Saru responded
"well, as you may of heard, since the break up of the empire 30 years ago the four kingdoms haven't really seen eye to eye. but now...its never been this bad. There's civil war in the air, in the western kingdom of Alomar, the one your in now , King Foltest blames the kingdom of nightguard for his daughter's killing. the half-elf king of nightguard, king Henry is not one to back from a fight so a war will surely ensue. that's why Foltest hates non-humans so much, he is so close to order mass killings soon....so Saru you better watch back around here lad, thats why me and the misses are packing up our bags and getting the f**k out of here" the Dwarf explained
Saru just nodded and so the dwarf continued
"The kingdom of Red Cliff is on the side of king Foltest due to family ties and the third kingdom hasn't even made up it's mind yet. if you ask me their the wild card in this game of kings"
"what does have to do with Aviati?" Saru asked
"the rumors are that Aviati set this whole civil war up, i mean its a great way of weaken the land before he invades." the Dwarf answered and the pub fell silent for the moment.

Drake set his drink down and had listened to the rumors carefully, though he knew more information than the dwarf had on the 'wildcard' kingdom, he contemplated whether telling it all yet. 'No, now's not the time. Just keep the past in the past, Drake.' Well, one little snid-bit wouldn't hurt.
"Yes, Aviati is a cruel being. And that wildcard kingdom will make itself known very soon, I can gaurantee that, my friends. With the lost of their king several years back, along with some of the most experienced soldiers at its command, someone will bound to take up the mantle and be eager to make themselves known again. On which side they will fight, I know not. The only man likely enough to take over the throne sees no difference between races and will not hesitate to go to war with one."
He silenced himself after that and took to finishing his drink.
"If it's alright with you, it's about time for me to catch some sleep. Traveling takes its toll on you, you know?"
He gulps down the last of his drink, sets some coin on the counter, and with a "See you in the morning if you're around," he walked out of the building.

Kal sipped his drink and decided that he'd hit the hay also. "Mind if i tag along to the inn your staying at?" he asked as he caught up to the noble-like man. "Wait, i need to check my goods and cart to see if everything is there." Drake nodded and wrote the name of the inn on a piece of paper with a bit of coal. Kal thanked him and wandered to wear the stable were.
Upon seeing a stable boy who looked a little simple, Kal asked him if he could take him to his cart. "It be gone sir." he said without a hint of emotion on his face. "What do you mean it's gone?" Kal said scornfully seeing the blankness in the boy's eyes. "Yessuh, someone wearing a hood came by and said he was Kal Heeps. I don't suppose your 'im?" By the time the boy finished his sentence Kal exploded into a rage. "That cart and horse were the only things left of my trading company! Those spices cost me over 300 silver pieces!"
Kal felt a sharp blow to the back of his head and looked up to see a scraggly man with string brown hair and an unkempt beard standing above him with a shovel and torch. "Leave villain! Before I make you leave to the Realm of Rothals!" Kal put up his hands which were smashed by the man with the shovel. "Leave. Now." The scraggly man hissed.
Kal rushed from the stable pursued boy's father, the presumed owner of the stable. "If you ever go near my boy again, I brain you merchant-man!" Kal left with a few broken fingers, a hurt head, and his pride in the gutters. "Where are those two sell-swords when you need them..." Kal said before falling into a dead sleep in a gutter.

Saru was just about to call it a night, but then he heard a commotion outside. without hesitation he rushed outside to see what was going on. All he found was kal broken, blooded and unconscious on the muddy ground with his face in the gutter. he could hear moans and groans of pain coming from the motionless body, Saru took this as sign that Kal was still among the living. "you Just can't stay out of trouble, can you?" Saru whispered softly then he approached the motionless body until he was towering over Kal.
"Come on, lets find you a warm bed so that you may rest" Saru said as he lifted Kal's body with both his upper and lower arms and threw him over his shoulder.
With no effort, Saru swung the inn's door open with his upper right hand while the rest were keeping Kal balanced.
"we are going to need two rooms, one for Mr. knocked out and one for me " Saru asked the dwarf.
" sure, it's the least i can do for you after you saved my hide....there upstairs" said the dwarf.
Saru made his way up the stairs, with each step he could hear the wood crack and pop, buckling under the weight of the large sovani. until he finally made it upstairs, the upstairs level of the inn was nothing special; it was a long enough to fit eight rooms and wide enough to accommodate three guest to past through it's hallway. it was well lit with several oil lamps scatter along the hallway and had this smell of old pine wood. Saru walked towards the first room he saw, he knocked first to sure no one was there. there was no answer . then he grasped the iron cast door latch with his lower right arm and sung the door wide open. afterwards he lay down Kal gently onto his bed and checked his wounds to sure that weren't deadly and left to retire to his room, and call it a day.

Light shined through the window directly in Kal's eyes waking him. Standing up groggily he looked at his surroundings finding them to be from the bar last night. "Who brought me here..." he wondered as he hobbled over to the door with stiff legs. Grabbing the door handle, pain burned through his fingers. Recoiling in pain, Kal looked at his fingers to find them swollen and slightly misshapen.
"By the gods, what a night." Kal said distantly as he opened the door with his other hand. He walked down the stairs and found the Dwarf sitting behind the counter cooking up his breakfast. "Hello friend." Kal said as jollily as he could through the pain. "Mind if I ask for some breakfast?" The Dwarf smiled "Of course! Also, if your wondering, the cat-man brought you in last night. It appears you have had a string of bad luck merchant." He said with a bitter look at his trashed bar.
Fifteen minutes passed and the Dwarven bartender handed Kal his breakfast and went on to make the other guest's meals. Kal was about to dig in when the crack and pop of wood made him look up at the top of the stairs. There stood Saru, with his cloak draped over his shoulders. "Aw, hello friend. care to join me for breakfast?" Kal asked taking a knife and fork to the fatty steak that sat on his plate.

Drake had found little sleep the night before. Some things that were said had brought up pain-filled memories, ones that were best left as memories. As the sun snuck into his room through the window by the head of his bed, he found the calm blackness of the inside of his eyelids bright red. Trying to squeeze his lids tighter, he failed to bring back to darkness. He soon enough began hearing the town outside start coming to life with its inhabitants going about their daily rituals.
"Might as well get up now that I'm awake," he said groggily. Tossing his legs out from under the sheets, he sighed as the cold, hard floor sent little chills up his feet and throughout his body.
He stood up, resulting in an audible 'pop' as he straightened his back. Stifly walking into another room, he picked up the bucket he had filled with water the night before. Dipping his hands into the chilly water, he tossed it on his face and rubbed it in for good measure to make sure he was fully awake now. With that finished, he fiddled about his room and gathered his clothes which were laid about during his one-tracked state-of-mind last night.
When he finally got the last article of his clothing on, his nose picked up a delicious smell. 'Cooked eggs, ham, and baked bread. Nice smell to start the day.'
He glanced out the window at the bar he'd had such a nice time at and saw everything seemed normal from the outside. "I wonder if my merchant and Sovani friend found themselves sleep."
He stepped out of his room and walked down the stairs into the lobby. A thin, young boy was watching over the counter; probably while his father and mother were doing business in town. Drake stepped over and dropped a few coins in front of the lad, to which the boy gave me a big smile. "Thank ye."
He gave the kid a wave and pushed himself out of the inn where he received the full blunt force of the sun's life-giving warmth. He made his way over to the inn to get some food in his stomach. 'Let's hope the town's folk are more of a morning people instead.'
