Irayo for posting the link to this video of "The Real Avatar" episode of "The Nature of Things". I had never seen it before, and I enjoyed watching it...very interesting, and moving. Kudos to David Suzuki for making this doc about the indigenous of Peru and their struggles against oil, mining, etc.

Thank you, as you may not know its our media thats to blame for selectivly not reporting on issues like these , knowing is half the battle , To truly make a diffrence the mining and energy companys must be held acountable and see what there actions are causing . the heart felt testimony by the woman in the documentey about watching her people being torn apart was very hard to take. the pro oil viliagers feel a need for modern health care and advanced technoligy, with those items come attachment to the system, the Anti oil/mine villagers have seen what this "system" has done to other tribes that attached (they became dependent on it as we all are today) they pride themselves in being 100% self sufficent they simply dont want to play the money game they have seen what happens to others that have. still there are issues where modern health care can greatly reduce suffering and some technoligy that fits in with there family values could be helpfull , so its not an easy black or white choise on there part.
