see that,i learn something new every day. :) but i still prefer Christmas,as it brings back old memories of childhood dreams and good times at the holidays,which were pretty much the only good times of the year in the big city. i still have such a positive impression of Christmas because of that,and i refuse to let the crass commercialization of today,taint my childhood memories.

Can't wait for the 8th of december :) Where I live it's a bank holiday, and it's the day everybody puts the Christmas decorations up, form the lights outside, to the Christmas tree, to the Nativity ^_^ I always enjoy that day, me and my mother put the tree up, it's a nice day for 'family time' :nlol:

I don't know if anyone else has noticed or not, AMC is broadcasting night-long marathons of Scrooged, one of my favorite adaptations of A Christmas Carol, starring Bill Maury. The score is done by Danny Elfman, and I'm wondering if that was the prelude to him doing The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack, because he seems to hit the Christmas and eerie tone in both soundtracks.

My immediate family is entirely diests except for me and i'm an athiest so we don't celebrate "Christmas" we just use that date to celebrate family. I'm the only one who bothers with calling it the solstice instead of christmas though. This time of year its way too ****ing hot to bother really but i'm a pretty heavy antithiest.

Almost every year somone frm our extended family stays with us or we go to them.

Tomorrow, Christmas time officially starts here in Italy, it's a bank holiday, and most people put the Christmas tree up and all the decorations and the lights outside :) I'm probably going to put the lights up outside later today, on the gate :nsmile:

Yesterday I added multi colored led christmas lights around half of my room while the other half got all blue. I also bought a small string of led battery operated lights and wrapped them about the log portion of my Sideshow Neytiri, so my rooms looking much more like Christmas. :)

My good sir, the twelve days of Christmas happen after Christmas Day. Christmas day is the first day of Christmas, because the wise men didn't reach Bethlehem until after 12 days.
Today IS St. Lucia's day though! Which for me, officially begins the Christmas season! St. Lucia's day was made to be 12 days before Christmas in order to balance out the 12 days of Christmas leading to Epiphany.

^ yes,that would be the more religious aspect of Christmas,but in the actual commercialized side of this holiday,the 12 days of Christmas are the 12-24th of December and a partridge in a pear tree. :)

Na'vi always try to spend my holidays with a benefit.

In Russia corn goes in?is the Day of independence, but among the people of the country is not developed yet no significant tradition. However, the earth Na'vi will still traditionally spend the time otherwise. And here in the summer, in addition to our forest activities, we have gained from the authorities to remove the dump from the forest.

The idea is this - we fly on ikrans and take the garbage in the forest, which is on may remove themselves. Photo and place then in the internet, and write the authorities that it was removed. The video shows the place where the spring was a large garbage dump. Its destruction is a matter of na'vi.
As for the weekend, holidays, but to fight with traces of and damage from the heavenly people, we spend holidays there where we are happy in the forest. Train live there, shoot, listen to the "voice of the forest"...
