Hello all! I fight in the full contact boffer sport Belegarth and have decided it's time for a Pandoran house..So if you play Belegarth, this is for you! First the difference between a house and a unit. A unit is designed around fighting together all the time. A house is simply members who belong and share a common interest/fighting style etc.
Watching Avatar made me realize I wanted to arch in Bel. And more then that, I wanted to practice Pandoran archery. Left hand draw with an inverted grip. Only carrying the arrows you can carry and making sure each shot counts. Being prepared to change range and become an aggressive and in your face fighter with bladed weapons. And engaging aggressively no matter what.
Archery has an interesting place in Belegarth. Most archers don't sword fight. They'll call themselves dead if they feel a fight coming on and spend a lot of time running. Away I want to change this. So after much thought I've come up with the entry requirements of House Taronyu and what it means to wear our belt flag.

House Taronyu
We are the hunters of the battlefield. Our goal is the destruction of the opposing team. Through highly accurate archery and aggressive tactics we are true multi-range fighters. As Taronyu to be a member is enough. It's not about the hierarchy of many houses it's about what the house stands for.
Archery
Every Taronyu must own their own bow. It is preferred that his bow is as close as possible to 35lb at 28" maximum draw for Belegarth. There is no limit to number of arrows but it's the most that you can carry in your bow hand with your bow. No quivers are to be used. This helps keep our mobility up and make our shots count. Archery is our secondary offensive weapon. You should not hesitate to break your bow and prepare to go toe to toe if the situation calls for it. Our calling card on the field will be accuracy. Every shot a disabling shot or a kill. Every time.
Other Weapons.
The only other required weapon is a minimum length blue to represent the hunting dagger. The other weapons are your choice. No limits. These are your primary fighting implements. Sword and board, florentine, single blue it does not matter but you'll be known for your prowess with these at close range. We do not hesitate to support the line or lead a flanking party.
Every Taronyu will fight for the house once a month at minimum. This means that at a regularly scheduled practice once a month you'll follow the
requirements for House Taronyu in your fighting. And we suggest the majority of a single fighting day at any event.
It should be noted we are NOT a Navi house. That's not the purpose here and the house is open to all races. The purpose is to elevate the accuracy, intensity, and tactics of archers on the battlefield following the accuracy, intensity, an tactics of the Navi. The Navi purpose is simply a starting point. We do encourage the use of feathers as well as other natural materials in your garb and the heavy use of our house colors, blue, green, and silver. But this is not required. We do ask that your Taronyu flag be displayed no matter what your garb.
So there you have it. The first Pandoran house for Belegarth. Interested? I'm currently accepting applications via PM or email. I'd love to see Taronyu all across the country and well represented at events. This thread will remain as the main gathering place until we get a bit more interest.

I actually prefer the other. It's only derogatory if WE make it. So I use it as way of showing my pride and that I don't really care WHAT I'm called. Because those who can't see never will. So what's the point of arguing?
