hm, a free form threesome of Avatar films... James Cameron 'not planning Avatar trilogy' - Movies News - Digital Spy (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a326270/james-cameron-not-planning-avatar-trilogy.html)
is this why there's speculation that AV2's gonna be set underwater?
are Jake/Netyri even gonna be in AV2? is Av2 being made RIGHT NOW, in secret? with a totally new cast?

Hmmm interesting. I'm curious now as to how that will pan out. I wouldn't worry about Jake or Neytiri not being in it.
I'm actually more worried about that cat. It's creepy.

i don't think he should make a trilogy out of it.. the story is important to understand for what it says.. i believe people need to look at it on a deeper level.. but if i were to write avatar 2 it would be about jake and neytiri saving earth from evil corporations too.. like pocahontis did in real life.. kind of.. she sailed to england and was a big hit with the royalty there.. that's a true story.. and maybe mixed with an alien and preditor script.. or something.. lol.. ;)

As long as it stays with Jake and Neytiri, I'm happy. There is no Avatar without them :(

I don't really care if it'll be a trilogy or not. All I need to know is: It's called Avatar 2, and James Cameron produced it = IT WILL BE INCREDIBLE (oh and also, Neyney MUST be in it :inlove: )

I think it should be called something else, not Avatar 2 lol

It'll most likely be an original name with a secondary title format. Like... "Avatar: The Omaticaya Strike Back" or some sh!t.

Avatar 2 & 3 are shown at Sam worthingtons IMDB profile, and I am sure I read he signed in for avatar 2 & 3

So, there's still some debate about who's in the 'sequel's and what structure they'll each take?
I like the Star Wars analogy in the titling, but I don't think it'll be that way...
Remember there are a NUMBER OF MOONS floating around Polyhemus, Pandora being only one. I suspect "Avatar" was about the introduction of Jake to the Polyhemus narrative via 'clever tech'. The next one will surely be the keyword, like "Reservation" or something, after a nuke disaster or human plague on Homeworld.

Well, Jake and Neytiri will be in it.
They had signed a contract for three films, so we don't need to worry about that. (although I was seriously worried until I found out, I don't know what I'd do without knowing that I'd get to see more of them as I get older)
I have an interesting theory, that it will a 3 film character arc.
Avatar had the name it did, because it was about Jake, and his story of how he became an Avatar, and his journey of helping the Omiticaya, and finding his (and my) true love.
The sequel likely won't be called "Avatar" because Jake is no longer living in a another body though a machine, he became one of the people, the Na'vi.
It's possible the sequel could focused on the story of Neytiri as the main character this time (and can even more of her be a bad thing? Not in my books); with Jake too, of course, they both signed the contract. I'm insure if characters like Norm and Mo'at signed, but I personally believe they were kept alive for a reason, as so many died :(
The 3rd film? I don't know what would happen, it's possible they could tell the story of a child between Jake and Neytiri, although I truly hope they do not.
