I am an avid AVATAR collector (check out my collection on AVATAR COLLECTABLES by MISS TAMMIE) but what this thread is about is the lazy, poor and half harted effort Lee's toy review #216 gave AVATAR, I mean a kid could have put a more comprhensive list together and got it right, they have miss labled some of the creatures, the vehacles and left out the derivatives of everything, this is a magazine that toy collectors use to find listings of there favourite action figures and toys.
how can an AVATAR fan use this when it is so poorly done not all of the items are listed,(makes it hard for someone to collect all the set if you only have half the information).
please find attached a copy of the page from Lee's review and let me know what you think?

I cant help but look at this and laugh...I have a comprehensive list I made myself of what I believe is every Mattel toy that was made, and its way larger than this. Those prices are ridiculous too, the "Mountain Banshee's" go for at least double if not triple what it states, depends if they are talking about Tsu'Teys or Jakes. Avatar Grace is kinda hard to find, they have it listed for $12, I only see one on eBay currently and its almost $45 buy it now. They didnt even show that some figures have bio lume and some do not, for example the Neytiri with bio lume is much harder to find and expensive than than the one without.
Here is the list I came up with...

haha thanks for the kind words man...I think the difference is I actually took some time to make my list and I care about the product, from the page you posted it seemed like it was just a job to someone and they knew nothing about what they wrote nor did they care about the product.

Fantastic, this is just what I've been searching for! I'm trying to work out exactly which of the 3.75" and 4.25" I have test shots/prototypes for and which ones I'm missing.
Can I ask, are there differences in the toy (not just the paint application) between the standard and 'bio-lume' figures? From what I can see, Avatar Jake's bio-lume has a headdress whereas the standard release does not.

Adam is back! Haha man I remember you off the Avatar toy forum forever ago, you guys had an awesome discussion about the test shot/prototype toys on there, I believe my name is drewizzle88 on there...off the top of my head I think that the Jake is the only one with bio lume that isnt the same figure, I believe the others are the exact same but with the little glow in the dark dots added.
I'll double check that here after a bit and let you know dude.

Okay so I'm going through the list...
The bio lume Jake Sully is a unique piece, the one made with bio lume isn't available without it, its the one with the ikran riding headdress.
The Norm Spellman with bio lume is a unique piece and it's the shirtless Norm.
Tsu'Tey's bio lume is the same as the regular one, the only catch with this one is the only way to get his with bio lume is buying the Wii Game to get him.
Eytukan is the exact same with and without bio lume.
Neytiri is the exact same with and without bio lume as well.
Awkey is only available with bio lume.
Hope that answers your questions.

quick question? Why did they not do MO'AT as she was a major figure in the movie, yet they did Fike who"s only lines in the film were
" hey man, get a look at this, meals on wheels"
AND "yeah" and they did two versions of him one with and one without the exo pack
Also why do Akwey and not the red faced sea ikran leader? doesn't make sense to me.

No idea man...also why did they make Trudy with no Samson, but yet there is a Scorpion with no one to pilot it besides Trudy? A bit odd to me as well.
Mo'at would seem like a for sure character they'd make, no idea why they didnt, and I wish they made the Ikran Leader because then she'd have a name. I do like the Akwey figure its pretty sweet, surprised they made it and named him.
Great point about Fike, he really didnt add anything to the movie and got two figures, so odd.

yeah and why do the RDA grinder as a toy, you don't even see it but i think for a brief momment in the beginning when the shuttle lands at Hell's Gate, it seems to me that who ever was incharge at mattel who had the licensing for the film, they had not even watched it and just make charachters and vehacles they thought would sell, with out even looking at the film and finding out.
it would have been cool to have Mo'at or the redfaced Ikran leader as figures, but to have the samson that would have been awsome.

No problem man. What test shots do you still need/already have?
Seems like the ones I saw for sale a long time back and then since have pretty much been the same handful of figs.

This is EXACTLY the information I needed, thanks for taking the time out to check this for me! :)
I was just recently going through my testshot/pre-production figures with a mind to putting photos of them up on a website for others to enjoy (it's not ready yet but the URL is COMING SOON - Adam_Adamant's Toy Collection (http://www.adamadamantlives.webs.com)) and realized that I wasn't sure how many I was missing. It got even more complicated when I remembered all the Bio-lume variants and exclusive that were made (Wii Game, SDCC boxed set). Still, I have 18 unique figures from the 3.75" / 4.25" mattel range, so not too bad.
Oh, and thanks for digging up our old thread, I can't believe it's already been 19 months since the film came out.

18 is really good!
I only have 7 of the smaller line
RDA
Sean Fike
Jake Sully (first release)
Avatar/Na'vi
Norm (first release, not the shirtless one)
Grace
Tsu'Tey
Eytukan
Neytiri
And 5 of the Movie Masters line
Quaritch
Neytiri
Jake
Warrior Jake
RDA Jake
If my math serves me correct I come up with 22 unique 3.75-4.25" figures that you should be able to get as a test shot.
