View Full Version : What do we call ourselves?

This has probably been covered before I even joined this forum, but I still wonder: What do we call ourselves, we fans of Avatar?
The one that comes to mind is Avatards, but that feels more like something the critics and haters decided to call us and not what we ourselves wanted us to be known by. However, it could probably be even worse.
Do we even need a name to unite behind? Despite humanity's love for categorizing? Maybe not, but what do you think? Since the next movie couldn't even be called Avatar 2, where do that leaves us?
I myself prefer to call myself an Avatar fan and maybe its best to leave it at that. I don't know. What do you think?
Cheers!

I call myself an Avataran. Personally, I don't like the term "Avatard". But that's just me.

Yeah there are Trekkies, Scapers ( fans of Farscape, like me. ;) ) . G-fans aka Godzilla fans-me.
Hmm, Pandories? Named after Pandora, the Na'vi home world. That sort of fits.

Avatard is the given name gifted by society at large.

My friends call me a "Cameronarian" because I love most, if not all, James Cameron movies. Avatar and Titanic being the top 2. But yeah, I agree Cyan - I don't fancy the term, "Avatard".

I call myself an Avatarian or how ever you may want to spell it. LOL I hate Avatards with a passion but that is just me. I have also heard Na'vians or just plain Na'vi's which I do like that one. A few people at work call me Na'vi and I just soak it up as I love it. :nwink::nsmile:

"Avatarian" is the preferred term around these parts, I think.
It's much, much more elegant than that other term, in my opinion.

never tought about it but I agree with everybody else, avatarian is the best.
(no offense, but am I the only one who think avatard is pretty funny? probably I'm mistaking retarted or something. imo that is a other word for crazy but in a good way. or am I missing what retard really means?

Call us what you will but I just call myself a fan. Really doesn't need to be anymore complicated than that.

Yeah, that's the one I would go with. It ends in 'ian', which is like 'follower of'. I guess that is what we have been doing over the past 18 months.
The only other one that springs to mind is combining 'Avatar' and 'fans' together and you get 'Avatans'. Hummm...duno. :nlol:
I don't call myself anything. I know there's people out there that call themselves Na'Vi, or Avatars...but really I'm just idk...human?
