As you may know, tomorrow is Mother's day. (I think I just heard tires squealing from around the world). Anyway it's becoming a tradition around here to offer a unique community style on national holidays and important dates. (Like Neytiri's birthday - of course).

So in keeping with that tradition, I'm presenting a sneak peek at the Avatar Forums 2011 Mother's day community style, which will become active late tonight and remain as the primary style during all of Mother's day (Sunday).

After Mother's day, the community style will return to the default Avatar blue style, BUT, the Mother's day style will remain as a style choice in the "Style chooser" on the very bottom of the forum page.

I think Mo'at would be happy, don't you agree?

I really like the idea of changing the theme of the forum on holidays. That opens up an opportunity for creativeness and the festive atmosphere helps to get people engaged in the holiday. ^_^

This theme is great and it’s celebrating what is definitely one of the most important holidays recognized and celebrated around the world.

I see the Earth Day one is still a choice too, I like that, I'm switching to it because I really like the green look. Cant wait to see more as we reach new holidays, once again great job Lon.

That was a very nice touch Lon, well done, and though very late I hope all the mothers had a great mother's day. To my mother my thoughts of her will always be dear to me.

Did you add a mobile site today today Lon? I hadn't ever had it show up on my phone before so I wasn't sure. They layout is nice its just a bit slow loading, they only problem I'm having is I'd like to go to the full site and it never let's me when I press the button, any ideas? I cleared my cache, cookies, and history but no luck. That's the extent of what I know to try on my iPhone lol.

You're correct the Mobile Style that vBulletin provided, which I added the other day has a bug that prevents you from choosing the regular "Full Site" skin. They're aware of it and promised a fix in the next patch.

I've also been working on a lighter Facebook type skin that integrates with Facebook's canvas. It utilizes the FB color scheme and is only 740 pixels wide so it fits better into their canvas window. It's by no means perfect, especially when people load up posts with some huge images, but it's coming along.

Awesome to know...appreciate all the hard work you continue to put in to the site Lon.:nsmile:

I generally use Tapatalk on my phone when I brown the forums, but someone reason the private messages and Tapatalk dont sync up so I think switch over the the full version of the site in my safari browser and can respond to people that way. Thats when I noticed the new mobile version.
