Hollywoodnews.com: James Cameron continues to craft the sequel to his staggeringly successful “Avatar,” and reveals where he and his collaborators are looking for inspiration.

“‘Avatar’ is a film about the rain forest and its indigenous people. Before I start to shoot the two films I want to bring my actors [to Brazil], so I can better tell this story,” Cameron told AFP.

He went on to explain that he’s contemplating bringing his “Avatar” sequel cast to Brazil’s Amazonian rain forest so that they can be inspired by the region’s indigenous tribes.

“Actors could learn about the natives and what real life in the jungle is like,” Cameron said, while speaking at the second International Forum on Sustainability. Organized by Brazilian company SEMINARS and promoted by LIDE, the seminar also features presentations by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Clinton.

That reminds me... it never rained in the movie. There is the one scene where Neytiri drinks from a plant that had pooled up water which suggests that it did rain shortly before, but we never see any actual weather except sunshine?

Actually, the scene where Jake makes a kill and Neytiri tells hims " you are ready" it is raining. Watch at the beginning of that scene and you can see it and hear it. :nsmile::nwink:

Thanks for posting this news, Miss Tammie! That's great that JC wants the Avatar cast to experience the rainforests and indigenous tribes in Brazil...certainly couldn't hurt.

The actors seemed to think going to Hawaii for Avatar helped later on in their performances, I am betting and hoping this does the same.
