I've uploaded all my CDs onto the computer and am having a good time enjoying these albums again. Just wondering does anybody else out there appreciate Kate's music, I would have to say at times I can feel a sense of Pink Floyd's influence in there, but predominitely her music is very original and refreshing, sung with a beautiful voice.
As you can guess, I have been biased when it comes to Kate Bush for 30 years now, my favourite album is perhaps 'The Kick Inside' only because it was my first introduction to her music way back when, and my second favourite would have to be 'The hounds of Love'.
Do any of you guys out there share the passion of her music? If so what are your favourite Albums?

Hi Fko lrrtok! I've not been posting here for quite a while now... Been reading the forums frequently, but not finding the time to post.
Kate Bush... ah, yes. I really love almost every song I've heard of her, but still I have not bought much of her records. I only have two of her albums; The Kick Inside, and The Whole Story, her best-of compilation from 1986. Hounds of Love have been on my list of "records to buy" since around 1991, but I have never gotten around to buy it yet.
I do love the feel and the sound that Kate Bush creates. It is most unique. It's nearly impossible for me to name which of her songs I love the most. Breathing, Running Up That Hill, Cloudbusting and Wuthering Heights are four songs I love... yeah I know... they are all among her hits.

Hi Svansfall, I sorta guessed if there was only one person who would appreciate her music on the forum, it would be you, as your music tastes are very similar to the rest of us eighties tragics LOL.
How do you catorgorise Kate's music?, you can't cause it is so wonderfully unique and very original, I would say it is timeless and could fit right in with the best of what is produced today. It is no wonder so many of today's artists pay homage to her and cite that much of her work has inspired their own directions in music.
Definitely make 'Hounds of Love' the next Kate Bush album you buy if you can Svansfall, whilst the whole Album is great, my favourites songs from it are 'Hounds of Love', 'Big Sky', 'Cloudbusting' and 'Waking the Witch'. Many people would probably include 'Running up that Hill' in their favourites from that album, but I think how it was flogged on the radio over the years put me off a bit, but i still enjoy it.
From 'The Kick inside', my favourites would be 'Wuthering Heights', (this song still gives me chills 30+ years later), 'Moving' and of course my all time favourite Kate Bush song 'The Man With the Child in His Eyes', I don't know why but this song just takes me places, love it, always have and always will.
The rest of Kate's Albums like 'Never for Ever", 'The Sensual World', 'The Dreaming', 'Lionheart' and 'The Red Shoes', I probably enjoy in roughly that order and my favourites change regularly, but like all of Kate's albums, you just put them on and let them take you to that place you felt you imagined when you first heard them.
'Ariel', I only picked up a few weeks ago ( I know, it has been out for four years ) and like the majority of Kate's music you need a few listens before it ensnares your senses forever. So far I would have to say the 2nd disc appeals to me more but that will change as I become more familiar with it.
There is so much of Kate's work that is special to me and perhaps becuse I often listen to the albums from start to finish that each album becomes the single entity, if that makes any sense at all.
I have to say though, I really respect her work, she is definitely one artist who truly did it, and still does it her way.
