View Full Version : What might an older Neytiri look like?

Has anyone imagined what Neytiri might look like when she is older, like in her 50s? Given how active the Na'vi lifestyle is, she would remain conditioned throughout her life, but I can foresee quite a few wrinkles (and maybe scars) on her skin.
Does anyone with photoshop want to produce an image of an older Neytiri?
EDIT: I meant to post this in the General Discussion forum. Can a mod or admin move this thread?

I would like to see a photoshoped older Neytiri, too.
I bet she would still be the most attractive creature in the Universe, besides her age wouldn't change her beautiful character.
She would still be the woman of my dreams.

I created a speculative rendering of what Neytiri might look like older. I didn’t want to do too much to deface her, but I did put a little age on her. I did side by side visual wrinkle copying from reference photos. I followed lines that existed on Neytiri’s face and enhanced them to make the transition look a bit more natural. I created the look of wrinkles and general sagging in specific areas with the usual crow’s feet and such. I thinned her lips and even gave her a good case of cataracts and a light scar on her left cheek for good measure. I animated it so it would drift between before and after for effect. Converting it to a GIF did reduce the quality and remove a lot of detail, but you get the idea. It’s the best I can do without having a proper understanding of how the Na’vi age. Perhaps someone else can create a better rendering. Does anyone have a still image of an older Na’vi?

She would look like Moat, of course. Remember the rule of thumb: if you want to know what a girl will look like when she's older, look at her mother.

Exactly, and Mo'at is still quite attractive at her age. I don't think her age is known for sure, but I'm guessing she's around Grace's age.

She would still be a goddess IMO :nsmile:
I want to be with Ney for the rest of my life, I want to grow old with her.

The eyes look freaky to me 0.o. Other than that, I think that may be pretty accurate.
I don't think she would look exactly like her mother. Her jawline and eye distance are a little different.

I made a few adjustments and uploaded the final frame as what should be a 689x657 still photo…

That looks really good! I think the effects of aging may be a bit more pronounced, but it looks very nice and accurate. Muscle tone and proportions will remain largely the same due to their active lifestyle.

Thank you, I may create another one at some point. I produced the more pronounced affect of aging to help give a forward looking idea of what could occur while keeping it as realistically accurate as possible. There are many variables to include with how someone ages. For example; Pandora has less gravity than Earth, so that suggests to me that skin sagging wouldn’t be the same as it would be here. You have laugh lines and those depend on how much you smile or laugh throughout your life. The type of lifestyle you lead and how well you take care of yourself are big factors too. That’s not even including genetics. As for their physical conditioning; I agree, I also feel that their muscle tone and proportions will remain within the physically fit range.
