Would Anyone Be Interested In A Design AF Skin Contest?

As you may know, there has been a lot of talk about upcoming changes - one of which will be the forum skin. My understanding is, the skin we have now is very limiting, has several flaws and isn't easy to modify. Several people including myself would like to see a contest, much like the Tee-shirt contest. Anyone interested in making a skin? Or perhaps helping someone? Or just give feedback/critiques. I asked one of the admins about it, but I would also like to see if anyone was interested... :D

I'd definitely be interested in the process itself, such as critiquing, assessing and giving feedback on the skin proposals. So count me in there. (But unfortunately my design skills suck, so I can't contribute in the actual design or creation of skins.)

Ok. Also, if this were to happen, we would probably need people to help with the technicalities of it. I could design a picture of what it would look like, but I don't know what the dimensions need to be/ should be, and things like that.

So that we are sure to be on the same page, can you define the term "skin" specifically as you see it? It might sound like a silly question, but clear definitions are always important from the get-go, because as a technical person I have, in the past, been burnt by lack of clarity on the precise scope of requirements and expectations. I don't want to make wrong assumptions, because you know what they say about assuming... =)

I do hope that there are a few people who have the talent to do this. I am also in the catergory like Tap says "design skills suck", but would definitely give my feedback or anything that you guys think that I could contribute with.
This would be awesome if it gets off the ground but a clear winner would have to be agreed on.
Lets send this message out to all corners of the forum and find the people with the necessary skills to get a rough in happening.

Design wise it would be nice to have something down the sides as well. A personal choice that I would love to see would in part of it have Jake and Neytiri flying together on their Ikrans, but we would have to have something that would represent the feel of the Pandorian world, that could also represent the majority of the main characters without seeming cluttered. I hope that this does get going guys and look forward to any future progress.

Update: I talked to Ar0c6 about it and he seemed interested. In fact I got the sense he was planning on it already. He said he is working on the guidelines/rules now. He said the decision will ultimately be decided by Lon - meaning even if this does happen, and there is a winner, it might not happen. Still, I am hopeful. I think if the designers work according to not just what they want, but what the members and moderators want as well, this will be very sucessful. For now, perhaps just share what you would like to see done - like what you want it to look like.

I think this'd be a great idea. I know there are some really talented and creative people out there and I'd love to see what people can come up with.
