I have a new idea that dawned on me for the body-paint Na'Vi dilemma! I want to opt for a bodysuit because a.) painting my whole body would take too long and b.) it's more comfortable. But the problem is finding a fabric that was accurate. Then I thought, to maximize accuracy, what about painting the entire suit myself?

Problem is fabric paint is heavy and would ruin the elasticity of a skin-tight fabric like spandex. Then I thought, what about airbrushing a full-body unitard?

Airbrushing costumes is a trend these days (if you've noticed the great detailing on new kids Halloween costumes), check out some examples:

And it turns out pretty good. I actually do own a professional airbrush and compressor and I'm thinking of trying this out. I would love to hear any ideas! I'm thinking a textile paint watered down with some kind of dilution for the paint... and affixing gems for the sparkles on their body. I'm having a hard time finding a unitard the right colour though.
