I .... I can't right now put into words .. what this song means to me .. but it speaks something so profound to my soul when I discovered it today ... something 'intangible' ... athough the first thought I had when I heard the song was of Tsu'tey's death scene - which is probably one of ..if not the most moving scenes for me in Avatar .. when that noble mighty warrior is falling - eaglewinged to Pandora below...

Loreena McKennitt - Dante's Prayer:

When the dark wood fell before me
And all the paths were overgrown
When the priests of pride say
there is no other way
I tilled the sorrows of stone

I did not believe because I could not see
Though you came to me in the night
When the dawn seemed forever lost
You showed me your love in
the light of the stars

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Then the mountain rose before me
By the deep well of desire
From the fountain of forgiveness
Beyond the ice and fire

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me

Though we share this humble path, alone
How fragile is the heart
Oh give these clay feet wings to fly
To touch the face of the stars

Breathe life into this feeble heart
Lift this mortal veil of fear
Take these crumbled hopes, etched with tears
We'll rise above these earthly cares

Cast your eyes on the ocean
Cast your soul to the sea
When the dark night seems endless
Please remember me
Please remember me

Bumping the rest for now .. until I done processing!

Loreena McKennit has amazingly beautiful songs, she has touched me and many others with her voice that's often described "angelic". I first discovered her when I listened to The Celtic Circle collection albums, and since then I've listened to her songs when ever I want to feel spiritual.

You probably have already, but I recommend, for everyone, listening to her other songs as well, especially if you like folk, celtic, or want to listen to something that could maybe help you meditate or somesuch.

I'd like to share here with you one of her songs especially. It has no lyrics, just chanting, and is of more cheery and joyful tune, rather than wistful. This is a song that has made me cry many, many times in joy, simply because it's so beautiful. It makes me wanna dance, smile and laugh and roll in the grass and love all life.
